One more question guys. Then I promise I’ll leave you alone lol.
I’ve emptied the hydro oil and I seem to remember people talking about a screen filter.
Is there one? If so where do I find it?

Yes there is a screen filter behind the (if sitting on tractor) left rear wheel. Some have been able to remove it without taking the tire off but its alot easier to remove the tire. Theire are step by step instructions on the Massey forum.

Take the time to take the tire off. It will make things faster and easier. When you remove the suction screen filter, note the O-rings' positions. It is very easy to forget about the inner one, or crimp it on reassembly. If you have a leak after refilling, it will be here.

It’s all drained, I will remove and clean the screen tomorrow with confidence because of you. I picked up all the oil and filters at the Massey dealership today. Will reassemble and refill tomorrow then I’ll be good for a couple of years, except the engine oil which I do every 100 hrs or every year whichever comes first.

Also keep in mind that the strainer assembly is plastic (at least it is on my 2310)-- be careful not to over-tighten when re-assembling; let the o-rings do their job.

And to answer your previous question "Is the hydro static oil and hydraulic oil all together?" Yes. It's all from the same sump -- power steering, hydrostatic transmission, hydraulic systems for FEL, BH, MMM, etc.

Other than operating PTOs, the engine's main job is to drive the hydraulic pump; pressurized fluid is then routed to various devices through the valves/control knobs, levers, steering wheel valves and go-pedal(s).

Hope this helps your understanding; these are amazingly capable --and useful-- machines. Just try not to ever use the word "fun" when talking about the tractor... it gives people the wrong impression...:rolleyes:

Thanks for the heads up👍 I知 one of the few who are downsizing . I sold my 1540 non hydro for the GC2600 , I found the 1540 a little big for my application , I was always damaging the yard when doing Chores. Though I will probably miss the bigger tractor at times I am looking forward to the hydro drive , cutting grass and especially the front mount snowblower!
