Neighbor dog on my property harassing wildlife

The paint ball gun seems interesting. But I'm not anxious to spend $100 to correct what is the neighbor's problem.

Animal control has been mentioned ... I had a much more serious issue last year with a larger wild predator. Animal control was of no help at all.

This may be $15 worth of fun. A remote control fireworks detonator. This one is 12 channel so you can set off 12 firecrackers, smoke bombs, etc.

I’m not going to say are animal control is useless but pretty close. They are kind of an 8 to 5 operation also.

AC usually deals with domestic animals only, dogs, cats, cows ....

For wildlife problems, you usually need to call the Game Wardens, Fish & Wildlife, DNR ... whatever they're called in your area.

I like the idea of the paintballs as a deterrent. It would provide incentive for the offending pet owner to do something and the dog wouldn't enjoy it either. Probably wouldn't have to paintball him more than once or twice to get the desired result.

We once had Moose problems and yelling, firecrackers and bottle rockets had little lasting effect. It got so bad that the kids couldn't even go out to play in the yard. Finally, Fish & Game gave me some 12 gauge shotgun shells that would shoot a cherry bomb out about 50 yards and it would explode. I touched that Moose with that cherry bomb and problem was solved without actually harming the critter. Paintballs or skunkballs would serve the same purpose.

I would imagine a Wrist-Rocket (slingshot) would work with paintballs too. They worked great for cherry bombs and M-80s too!
