Neighbor dog on my property harassing wildlife

It sounds like the neighbor is at least trying to do the right thing. I'd approach him the way that you'd want to be approached if the situation was reversed.

Very honorable and sensible advice that will solve a lot of problems before they occur.

Neighbors farm dog started showing up on our farm uninvited. This went on for a few days and my dad said to me get a "corn cob without the kernels and soak it in turpentine, now when the dog shows up catch him and tie him up". Caught that dog one day and we were ready. Dad had a heavy coat handy which we covered most of the dog from head to foot except for the ***** end. I sat on the coat covering the mutt. Dad took the corn cob dipped in the turpentine and rubbed it a few times on the exposed butt end of the dog. That critter was not to happy as it ran home with its butt dragging on the gravel road home, Needless to say the dog did not ever show up again.

So... I get up this morning, look out the window, and I see three dogs running down my driveway. This has happened about four times in the last two months, never can find the dogs or where they live. So, I got on google Earth and pulled up a satellite view of the area to see what would make sense. Turns out on the west side of my property, across my neighbors 50 acres there is a hollow running up somewhat close, maybe 1 mile away. So I hop in my truck and find this place, sure enough there are the dogs lying in the front yard. See photo... I don't think talking to this guy is going to help...

I had a problem with a neighbours' dog about 25 years ago, crapping on my driveway. A round of rock salt did the deed, it never came back.
Another neighbour thought he could let his dog run, I have video of it up my driveway. I had asked him twice to keep his dog off my property. Didn't do any good. Finally the dog chased one of my cats into the house, just before I was going out. Saw the neighbour kid (20s) with the dog on the road and told him about the story of the farmer that took him a wife and carried her home in a horse drawn wagon.
The horse stumbled once and the farmer said, "that's once" and carried on. Later the horse stumbled a second time and the farmer said, "that's twice" and carried on. The horse stumbled a third time and the farmer got off the wagon and shot the horse dead. His new bride said' "you beast, you beast", the farmer said that's twice.

I told the kid that this time I had video of his dog and that that was the second time. Haven't seen the dog since.
