EVs are not automatic, they are 1-speed.

Not all,I drove a Mitsubishi Mini truck that a guy had converted to electric, it had a 4 speed tranny and was really fun to drive. I wanted to do it with a Suzuki mini that I had because that makes them eligible for licensing here. It was just way too expensive for me though.
The way you could tell when it was time to shift was when it wouldn't go any faster so you just up shift till you reached that gears limit. I'm not sure how long the drive train would last, but if you used good sense it was great.

That truck sounds nice but left the factory as an ICE vehicle. Most all true EV's have no actual transmissions so are only are 1-speed forward or backwards. On our Nissan Leaf Park is a button on shift lever handle. Pulled to the left is N. From N position then forward = R. From N position to rear = D. The second pull to the rear = B for Max Regen braking when only using the "gas" pedal.

A ridiculous ad hominem response from GC. Liquid hydrocarbon fuels are the hands down winner in energy density, ease of transportation and a short time interval to refuel. Then again that is all academic . So what are your actual beliefs and agenda GC ?

Don't feed the troll. He doesn't even know what ad hominem means.

Kia electric car: 3-mile range, 2-minute fast-charging, arriving by late 221

There must be a million new EV's being released 'Late 2021' . :)

Wow! 3 mile range and charges in only 2 minutes!

OK, the URL title goofed. Claims 300 miles and 20 minute charge but isn't saying anything about providing a charging infrastructure capable of the 20 minute charge. Tesla has been building 250 kW Superchargers the past year.

Any company who wants to play the specsmanship game can market a rapid charge EV, its just a matter of how much degradation they are willing to accept by abusing the battery. Consider the shortcut Nissan took with the LEAF resulting in batteries that last 3-4 years.

Lithium batteries wear faster the faster they are discharged, the faster they are charged, the lower they are discharged, and the higher they are charged. Batteries are not like gas tanks for which it doesn't matter how low you go before filling, or how full you fill. For minimum wear a lithium battery needs to stay in the middle. For minimum wear a lead-acid battery needs to stay near full charge.
