A few months ago, I picked up a used golf cart canopy, a couple pairs of mounting brackets, and a neat basket type thingy for $40. Only other things needed were some 2x3 square clamps. The whole project took me longer to pick up the stuff than it did to get it mounted. Worked out better than I thought it was going to. There are even a few bolt holes in perfect locations to mount some cube lights (next project in a few weeks). I am hoping to get it painted to match this week, I will post some more pics then.

Very nice. Looks like it came from the factory.

It was a nice day today, so I took the canopy off and painted it to match. Turned out better than I thought it would.

I am already planning to add some slightly larger tube onto the ROPS, then the canopy tubes will just slide down into them, making it an easy on / easy off by just lifting.

Here are a few pics of the painted canopy back on the tractor.

I like how you painted the top to match the tractor. Looks sharp!

Now if your going to make it so it's easy to remove then I would make the brackets so that the top is level with the tractor. To me it looks like the front is lower than the back and I think it would look sharper with the top even. Just my .02 cents

Well done.

Thanks for the idea on using the larger tubes for easy on/off.

Stay safe,

Well done.

Thanks for the idea on using the larger tubes for easy on/off.

Stay safe,

The larger square tube idea worked out great! Top goes on really easy and fast! I will have to take some pictures of it with the easy on / off setup. It actually looks cleaner. I will try to take them tomorrow.

That looks REALLY great. One whole *&^% of a lot less expensive than my Kubota canopy.

Here are some updated pictures of the easy on /off mounts. The brackets of the canopy just slide into the larger tube. I siliconed a piece of 1 x 2 x 1/4 inch thick rubber to the inside of the larger tube. That took care of any vibration or rattles. When the canopy is off, the mounts will double as hand tool holders.

LS MT 125 Owner That looks out standing! Can I ask where you got the canopy brackets for the top? I think I can come up with a top....just curious where those brackets from?

The square tube, square u-bolts, and 90 degree brackets, and nuts/ bolts all came from Tractor Supply. The bent square tubes (mounting the top) were from a golf cart repair place. That is where I actually got the canopy.... it is an EZ-Go top.

I like the OP's thought processes. Saw the golf cart top and immediately knew how to make it work on his tractor. Good show.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. My kids always jokingly called me “ MacGuyver “. They would say give Dad a box of stuff and he will make something out of it!

Only thing that has been added were some small rubber squares on the inside of the larger square mounting tubes. At certain engine rpms, there was a rattle... I cannot stand rattles or squeaks. And, just to hold it firmly in the tubes, I cross drilled and put a removable pin through each side. I had envisioned hitting a big bump and the whole canopy jumping off!

Are we not going to address the level of organization of this man’s shop tools? I’m mesmerized

Oh, the canopy looks awesome by the way!

Looks great!

Is there any concern of safety in a roll over situation?
