Why are JD 1025 ROPS taller then all others in class?

Kubota drastically increased the ROPS height between the BX2360, and the BX2370. Sure am glad they didn,t change the exact mounting points that allow either one to be bolted to the same frame with the exact same bolt pattern.

ROPS of the 4010 (non folding) fit nicely underneath all garage doors. The ones on the 1025R and 2025R stay folded after I mangled one garage door entry when forgetting to fold it.

I just keep mine in the lowered to the rear in the first notch and leave it there. (not all the way down) I think it is high enough to protect me if there is ever a roll over, just duck down an inch or two, if there is an emergency roll over.

That's exactly where I kept the 1025 and 2025's. Hit the folded part occasionally with my head. Way I figure it is I just need to roll a bit to stay just under it. Hoping it never happens. I'm very careful. They should make them all fit under doors.

That's a storage position, not operational. I'm not sure it would have any effect at all in a rollover, rather than just shearing the pins and collapsing.

They designed the ROPS height last. So they could match the size of the sticker price. :D

Post a pic of you sitting on the tractor from the side.

A folded ROPS should be removed. No point in hauling it around.

A folder ROPS still provides protection "up to the fold" with the same strength that it would have in the full upright position. It still gives you protection up to that point. Next time you are on your tractor seat check how high the fold area is on your body. That would be a safe area from the fold down to the seat. It would prevent your body from being crushed from the fold down in a total roll over. However, everyone needs to make their own decision about using the ROPS in that position. I can see if it was fully up it would probably prevent the tractor from going farther than on it's side, not a complete roll over.
