A local church held a revival in mid March. Shortly after that one person died from the virus & a few days later another died.

I think the population of this county is about 45,000 & there are now 62 confirmed cases & 4 or 5 deaths. The revival spread the virus to at least 3 counties, one is about 200 miles away.

This is the 3rd week I have been off work. We are having to use our vacation time up before we can file for unemployment. I will get to work tomorrow and Thursday so we can work out a plan for how we will return safely.

I didn't do a complete reply the last time. Wife normally goes to the gym 6 days/wk. She's now getting her workouts cutting fallen logs and invasives (autumn olives, oriental bittersweet, greenbriars). She makes piles of cuttings, and I go down an hour to hour and a half (that's all I last) shredding/chipping them up in morning and afternoon as long as it stays dry enough to take the tractor down the hill. Then maybe run the tractor to tote away the logs she's cut up: her loading logs into the bucket.

I normally bowl twice/wk. Also normally go to the extension office and volunteer one morning/wk. Both these have been out for about a month.

Church is by Youtube, and the preacher has been sending out some other Youtubes on various things about every other day.

Fortunately, the local hardware store is still open where we can get our chains and chipper blades sharpened (at a shop they send them off to). Grocery stores are all open. Only item in short supply has been paper towels.

The roof top services guy is still working. Our skylight replacements and a slight roof repair are about 3 weeks away yet. So, he's still busy.

I feel for HCJ, the dentist. Our dentist shut down but failed to tell ME. I went over there for a dental cleaning (all I ever have; got good teeth), and the door was locked with a sign on the door about Covid.

I do a master gardener newsletter. It's all done by the computer and online. This month is the other editor's. I'll have Mays and then she'll have June and hopefully be off the "stay at home" then. Had a MG board meeting by Zoom. One member could not get on her computer. She was on by phone.

Copied. I thought this was relevant to the OP’s question:

“WE ARE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT ...
I heard that we are all in the same boat, but it's not like that. We are in the same storm, but not in the same boat. Your ship could be shipwrecked and mine might not be. Or vice versa.

For some, quarantine is optimal. A moment of reflection, of re-connection, easy in flip flops, with a cocktail or coffee. For others, this is a desperate financial & family crisis.

For some that live alone they're facing endless loneliness. While for others it is peace, rest & time with their mother, father, sons & daughters.

With the $600 weekly increase in unemployment some are bringing in more money to their households than they were working. Others are working more hours for less money due to pay cuts or loss in sales.

Some families of 4 just received $3400 from the stimulus while other families of 4 saw $0.

Some were concerned about getting a certain candy for Easter while others were concerned if there would be enough bread, milk and eggs for the weekend.

Some want to go back to work because they don't qualify for unemployment and are running out of money. Others want to kill those who break the quarantine.

Some are home spending 2-3 hours/day helping their child with online schooling while others are spending 2-3 hours/day to educate their children on top of a 10-12 hour workday.

Some have experienced the near death of the virus, some have already lost someone from it and some are not sure if their loved ones are going to make it. Others don't believe this is a big deal.

Some have faith in God and expect miracles during this 2020. Others say the worst is yet to come.

So, friends, we are not in the same boat. We are going through a time when our perceptions and needs are completely different.

Each of us will emerge, in our own way, from this storm. It is very important to see beyond what is seen at first glance. Not just looking, actually seeing.

We are all on different ships during this storm experiencing a very different journey.”

My sister is out of hospital and getting better.

Thats good news. Mass is getting to what is expected to be the top of its cycle now. I know of a few people who have been hospitalizes, One is a friend from years ago who is in a coma ...so I'm told. Pretty crazy how many people this has hit so far.
