Little Bob, there probably wouldn't have taken kindly to your tucking him under your arm and packing him home. Not to mention your doggies probably would not have made friends with him.

Lol! My guess is my highly 菟rotective GSD would take her usual approach, bluff aggression until aggression is shown back, them immediately hide behind daddy. I almost got bit once; until the big dog realized I was not going to be intimidated and even then it only gave ground grudgingly.

I figured the 12 gauge was a bit much to handle so I am leaning towards the 20 gauge. My original post was supposed to read 20 gauge but I left out 20.

If it were me, I would like the quick single hand operation of the Judge Defender from a hip holster and 5 shots of 2 1/2" #6 shot that should take care of your snakes, unless they are wearing "body armored skin".

As I said before, glad you aren't my neighbor. You certainly don't fit the description of country folks here in Missouri.

That's one solution, for people with smaller acreages or who just want to keep their pets in a small area. I am fortunate that both my past and current dogs stayed nearby when I"m home; it was when we were working that my last dog would stray. If I have another with that habit I won't hesitate to put an e-collar on her, to ensure that she stays in sight.

I have ~40 acres and I'd like them go at least a quarter mile to my gate. Hence, the typical transmitter-type "fence" won't work. It's only good for a couple hundred feet or 1/2 acre or so. That won't even cover my home, shop and pole barn.

You know, I was brought up to never raise my voice to a female. My dad taught me that.
There's a small abandoned farm I cut hay on nearby. The owner sold & moved to the other side of town. New owner is The Battlefield Trust out of Washington DC. They have given me full authority to cut the hay, store it in the barn, mow the lawns and chase off trespassers. Well I'm up there last week and here comes this ol gal with her giant dog, walks past the no trespassing signs right onto the property allows the dog to take a giant dump on the lawn. Doesnt even bring the walmart bag to scoop it up.
I'm not accustomed to confronting women. Taught not to. So what would you do?
I agree with most here on this thread that there are more than enough of dog owners who are very inconsiderate. This thread wouldnt start & continue if there wasnt. Everything from dog poop to dogs in trash, to dog attacks. Probably goes back to the way they were raised.
