I took myself off the news ban I imposed on myself to watch our Governor give his report on “ the plan” for opening up his restrictions. Basically, he has relinquished his duties to the states department of health. He seemed reluctant to answer the simple questions of “when”. The “plan” won’t be communicated until May 1st. A real head scratcher given the data.

State wide we have 391 cases, 84% recovered with 9 deaths. 7 of the deaths were attributable to compromising health conditions. The other 2 were not reported as such.

I really, really hope that the state health department has some economic background that will balance health and economic issues.

Until a vaccine is perfected, nothing will guarantee you live to see another day.... Nothing.

So, you get this magic vaccine and as you're walking out of the clinic a house falls on you.

Like they say, the only guaranteed thing about life is death.

i think its a matter of focus. Consider that real time testing would tell people who was safe right now. Business employees tested as they arrive and go home; customers, people on the street, etc. Business and life could proceed almost as normal while vaccine and herd immunity were developed.

So, you're walking down the sidewalk and suddenly you're surrounded by uniforms yelling 'Your Test NOW, Your test papers NOW, Schnell, Schnell, Mach Schnell!!!!'

Dude, this ain't THAT country.

Well the effect on me? I am sporting my longest hair since 7th grade albeit mostly white instead of black... and my longest beard, always had a goatee but now a full beard almost all salt and little pepper. All time weight record as well. I've got some cleaning up to do... hopefully soon!

Trimmers are cheap. I haven't seen a barber shop in 20 years.

fear is the disease

A life of fear is not worth living. Virus don't care how you feel.

'The only thing we have to fear is fear itself'. I think some famous guy said that a while back.

I’m am certain that in the near future we are going to look back at this and think our response was crazier than the Y2K scare.
Yeah-uh-huh.
Think big news media outlets, advertising and MONEY
Yeah-uh-huh.

On the UV solution .... think gigantic Coronal Mass Ejection or Gamma Ray Burst. Sure to wipe the bug out. And most everything else with it.

Ohhh, Corona to kill the Corona ..... That's goooooddddd.

Sadly in a time of great need SOME of our leaders and news media at present are failing us in spectacular fashion all the while the opportunistic types not letting a good crisis go to waste for self aggrandizement.
A pathetic, almost criminal display.
For those of us foolish enough to think they will survive the probable upcoming economic disaster unscathed by staying home, better get a reality check.
Only thing that can save us from the media scaring us to death ( and Y2K, Ebola, HIV/AIDS they overhyped, too ) is getting out from under the covers, defying their extreme fear tactics, and back to as much normalcy as possible. Even if theres a new normalcy.
Like others are saying, and I am too, life has no guarantees. Marines that landed on the beach in Normandy knew it. Most didnt ask to be there. Nothing great was ever achieved being scared into not taking action. They knew that, too.
Another month or so of this house arrest and I think were in economic depression mode.
Its a bad virus. Some people are going to die, like other viruses in the past. The answer is not in your IPhone 10 for this one. Stop acting like the world was supposed to be perfectly SAFE just because it’s YOUR time to live in it. Read history books. This has happened in the past. Sometimes the herd has to be thinned so the rest can go on.
We CAN minimize fatalities and get back to work to minimize economic disaster at the same time

As long as the Eagle keeps spitting out SS and retirement checks each month, I'm good. No change at all for me. Unless stores start to fail and I can't buy stuff.

That’s about all we need to know.

Who痴 up for some disinfectant injections ?

What about some sub-dermal UV light treatments ?

Anyone ?
Are you referring to what I heard on the air?
"And then I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?"
The stores were out of chlorine so will a batch of pool shock to shoot up work?

Are you meaning you never weighed this much before?

Most people can see why & how the virus sickens and kills people.
However, I dont think nearly as many can see how 20% or more unemployment and terrible economic conditions sickens and kills people.
I can see why people have a range of annoyed, mad or even horrified feelings as their reaction when going back to work is suggested, but they cant see what a depression would look like.
Much much worse.
With the rate automation was taking over 20% unemployment was in our future anyways.
It sure does get tiring listening to attempts at sophomoric humor at the expense of others... then claiming they aren't personal attacks while thinking they are being witty.

I like good natured jesting but differences of opinion should be respected and argued logically not with personal insults.

Why are the Corona threads especially bringing out 'not the best' of some of us? Maybe don't answer that.
Most of these "attacks" are against "the other side".
The trumpers attack anyone that doesn't see it their way, the non-trumpers the same.
The situation is so bad for many that
