You extrapolate unrealistically by not considering the value of real time testing as a tool to enable a safe and effective quick comeback - - and then ultimately to gauge vaccine effectiveness and herd immunity.

Ok, youre right. Let’s sit tight another month and see what dr fauci and the other experts extrapolate realistic information (mask, no mask, mask, etc)
I don’t need an immunologist expert to tell me a lot of companies can reopen for work right now and safely.
Not everyone works in an environment where 1000 people are huddled in a factory coughing on each other while cobbling shoes. :laughing:
Even if we get 5 million of the 22 million newly unemployed back to work, it will help fend off an all out depression!

There is no impetus for going back to work when the Fed is ponying up an additional 600 bucks a week to spice up the unemployment checks. Lots of unemployed are making as much or more on unemployment as when working. Why work when the gummit is giving out that kind of money, money they don't have in reality. Keep them presses rolling, cranking out worthless FRN's.

Depression is when the market crashes. Not happening...yet. Recession is when things get out of control, which it is.

Well the effect on me? I am sporting my longest hair since 7th grade albeit mostly white instead of black... and my longest beard, always had a goatee but now a full beard almost all salt and little pepper. All time weight record as well. I've got some cleaning up to do... hopefully soon!

Must be nice to have hair.... Mine left years ago, never to return.

Not yet. Another thing to remember is a depression won’t be felt like the 1930’s depression as there are a lot more social programs, put in place because of it.
Market crashes??? We had a little taste weeks ago when the DOW was falling 2,000-3,000/ day. So it could easily happen again and very quickly. It darn near crashed. Getting a big portion of the folks back to work would have a positive affect against it.
Unemployment checks won’t roll forever.
