I'm impressed that the discussion has gone on this long and is still remaining civil. I figured a thread like this would have been closed in less than 50 post.
My biggest issue are the red-flag laws. They advertise them as being common sense, but they are not being used like that and they are clearly unConstitutional. I believe I've already heard of two stories were that have been used poorly. One was a police department using the red-flag law to further an investigation into a bad group. The other, I wish I had a link, was a school crossing guard. He was an older gentlemen that had his guns removed. He was given no receipt and he was unable to get his guns back. It appeared that he said something about the SRO being incompetent at the school he worked near. Well the SRO's girlfriend was a waitress and likely overheard this. She reported that the guy was going to shoot up the school. I don't like laws that allow people to do things with unkind motives to do damage to others without fear of punishment, nor laws that put the government's endless money against an innocent citizen who doesn't have the time or money to fight it. I'd love to find the article to hear if they guy has gotten his guns back.
