Thinking about buying another tractor. Not a need or even fully necessary at this point. I don't want to kick anyone while they are down but one would think there would be lots of deals to be had. Dealers whose sales are slow, people who lost jobs selling, etc. I haven't seen anything but normal prices.

I bought my second tractor this week. A Bx2380. I’ve had a B2650 for 7 years and needed a smaller tractor for grass cutting and smaller tasks. The deal I got was financing at 0% over 5 years and no payment for 3 months. That said if you go that route, you have to buy insurance through Kubota credit. That insurance essentially is a percentage adder. If you pay off the tractor early, the insurance added goes away. The tractor price was still about normal but I did get quite a bit off for the FEL and the 60 inch mower deck. That said, our local dealer here in N.C. sold 15 tractors last week. Even with that, they delivered it in three days.

Thanks. That seems to be the only kind of "deals" I am seeing. Long term financing, delayed first payments, etc. I hate debt and don't borrow money so these type of things don't appeal to me. I have been shopping for a truck for my son. The cash prices quoted this week are the same as pre pandemic. I don't get it. They can't be selling that many and you would think they would be wanting to move units. They won't budge on price but they will finance it forever with no payments due until 2021.

Yeah. It didn’t seem much to me either. The spring is always a hi volume time for dealers so you’re gonna pay. Costs of the Kubota Bx series 80 tractors are very similar anywhere you go. I’ve looked for a long long while. According to our local dealer, Riddle Tractor in Winston Salem, NC, they are selling a ton of the BX tractors. Riddle is top notch. Im not sure about the sales guys. I did not buy my B2650 there 7 years ago. That said, I’ve had my B2650 worked on there several times and have no reason to not believe them. The BX tractors are very popular. Not sure about other models. Good luck. New tractors are expensive. Even so apparently in a pandemic.

I think something the same about clean, USED tractors.

Unlike most Spring seasons, almost no decent used tractors on the market here in rural New York State and certainly no price reductions that reflect
a need to sell soon.

I've heard of quite a few people selling rolls of TP. Cheap!

Apparently they all bought waaaaaay too much a few months ago.

This whole thing makes no sense to me. All we hear about is doom and gloom yet every single person I know is working and busy as ever. Items cost the same or more than before. With supposedly 1/4 the country unemployed how is this possible?

Theres a lot of bad stuff happening right now and a lot of loss money, so dont think I am down playing that. It is really not that bad yet for most companies and people, think we got another 45-60 days until we reach boiling point. Our economy and business' are strong think of it this way for companies. If you or I dont get a paycheck for a month maybe two it stings but we figure it out, its no different with these companies. I wouldnt killer deals on a lot of things.

That makes a lot of sense. Maybe I will hold off on the purchases for a couple of months. If nothing else it puts us past the spring boom.

There is a lot of oilfield close to us and when it is blowing and going anything that the oilfield uses is overpriced and hard to get. When it slows down prices drop bigly. I have been contemplating these purchases for quite some time and they are in no way urgent needs. I am just thinking there might be some really good buying opportunities that come out of this crisis. I guess put another way I would hate to buy something today and then find out next month the same thing is selling for 75% of what I paid.
