Price of meat almost doubled here...do you folks have a meat processor nearby?

I should be happy if prices cause me to eat less meat for the sake of the animals. Funny, how the EGO wants what is expensive or in short supply though.

CATS ate my friends left over steak fat as their Sunday Dinner Day Meal.

However, those are whole, usually 15ish pounds.

Price per unit means so little to me. How much for the average steak on the dinner plate?

Our pricing drives me insane. Combination of prices per KG and Pound, and then a listed sale price, but not what the regular price was. I see a sale, and my first question is, how much is regular price and how much is the sale price, in the SAME units? SMOKED meat and mirrors!

Last time we bought a whole ribeye, and had it cut into 1" steaks. They averaged about 16oz.

So it would be about $6.99 per steak at today's price at that store for bone-in, or $9.99 per steak boneless.

That old idea that a huge ingestion of BEEF into your gut means prosperity is thankfully over, I think. Along with a host of other tasty things, it's amazing how little meat one needs to be happy.

The muddled pricing is obviously 100% intentional.
Most won't even consider questioning it, and will just...buy!

We just went to Texas Roadhouse on friday and i had the Dallas Filet.....man, that meat is sooooo tender and tasty.......i only ate 1/2 of it cause i was stuffed on peanuts, rolls, salad and baked potatoes......i had the other half about 15 minutes ago.

Still delicious.

If you check Craigslist and or Facebook Market place you should be able to find local beef for your area.
Around here you have several methods of purchasing depending on if you want a whole cow, a half, or boxes of meat (often 25# boxes)

Excellent point. We do that here, locally we have found some very good sources for beef, pork, and poultry. Farm to table... that's where it's at. Support the farmer, not the stockholders...

That's what I was wondering....still, the ranchers are not getting fair prices for their cattle while meat is high.

There are plenty of cattle.

Excellent point. We do that here, locally we have found some very good sources for beef, pork, and poultry. Farm to table... that's where it's at. Support the farmer, not the stockholders...

There is a local meat market. It is out of my way about 20 minutes, but I need to go by and buy.
