I bought this the other day and it seems different than any other Hydraulic box blade Ive seen on the Internet. Seller bought it for resale so didnt have much detail. Said it was an old Gannon brand. I bought it because it looks real heavy duty and I also needed something 1000lbs plus for rear ballast.

My questions are have you ever seen hydraulic rippers mounted like this? Ill have to change out the lines before I can test it out.

Also the rear blade floats but doesnt seem to lock down ? Would it be a good idea just to weld it shut ?

Let me know your thoughts on this thing.

Can someone help me out on loading pictures. Can稚 figure it out

If you get it on a flat hard surface, you will probably notice the rear blade sits lower than the front blade. That allows you to use the rear blade as a cutting surface without interference from the front blade, allowing it to cut deeper. Leave it alone.

Do you guys see how the lower links connect to the hydraulic scarifiers mount and not a fix bar mount. Dont you think thats weird? I cant visualize how it will move with the links attached without actually hooking it up.

Looks like you have stumbled into a really fine implement. I would not modify anything until it has been positively identified and you have an Op Manual for it. Yes - the scarifier setup is unusual. This could well be one of its better features. Floating rear blade in not unusual.

Keep the faith. It's likely somebody on TBN will recognize the unit.

I'm sitting here salivating over those pictures. We've got a 4' box blade that bounces around most of the time so, I/we've strapped some fairly large rocks/boulders on top of them to give it some bite.

I'd love to toss something that looks as heavy as that behind the tractor and smooooooooooooth things out!

I will clean it up/repaint and it will look real nice. I cant believe how heavy duty it is, some of the bracing is over 3/4 the side walls are only 3/8 which I though was a little weird. Ill weigh it sometime but Im guessing 1000-1200 lbs, hoping to smooth some stuff out here soon!

No, not a good idea to weld it shut.

Does it have holes anywhere that line up like my Cammond?

Yours is unique, someone should recognize it.

Xfaxman, I will have to check again but I知 pretty sure there are no bolt holes to lock it
