Looks like it's doing a great job. What are you pulling it with?

It does do good and I mow some pretty rough places where a tractor can't go. Pull with a 2007 Polaris 500.

My seat time yesterday, was to run this vineyard tractor,

standard.jpg

for a couple hours, rotary cutting a field of tall thick grass, that had willows and lots of dead limbs in it.

This tractor had not been started for over 10 years, I checked it over, put a battery in it, and after the diesel engine rolled over about 6 times, it started right up, runs great and is back to work!

Those old Italian beasts from that Era will always start, no matter how much time they sat. As long as it has fuel, oil and a battery, it'll run. And will run pretty much forever.

My old crawler with the VM air cooled engine, took about half a turn and would start right up.

Only thing I had to do, was to "free up" the stuck clutch plate, that was rusted/stuck to the flywheel...

Hauled the dead 2 door reach in cooler behind the shop and will fill it with scrap for future reference.

Excavator with rock hammer attachment. The septic guy i do work for ran into this all the time up here.

I couldn’t find anyone that offers that service with a big one. I had a 35 mini with a hammer on the last job but it was way out of its league on this job.

The larger ones make a short job of it...but the noise drives me nuts. I had to listen to one working for nearly 3 hours during my last septic system install earlier this year ... mind numbing.

he was chipping out massive rocks to install his driveway. Theres a reason no one ever built a house in the location. 3 months of chipping to set house foundation .... some people have more money than brains

Regretting ever planting bamboo. Now I'm trying to get rid of it. My poor little Kioti just bounces off it. I need some sort of spade to attach to my bucket to cut in under it. Something about 18" wide would be good. I have dug others out but this one is something else.

I would guess that it spreads like cane does here. Roots may come up 20 feet away. Hard to kill.

My parents planted bamboo once......took 30 years to get rid of it.

Got rid of it by selling house

I'm always amazed that folks will pay 30 plus thousand for one of these new lightly built light duty compacts, when they could have a real farm tractor for 1/10th the price!

These older cast iron tractors will still be going when the new wizz bang yuppie tractor is dead in the shed!!

The few Same tractors like that I see around me for sale, are either overpriced, beaten to death or both.

It's pretty common to hear these things going over 10k, 12k hours easily. Some of them also had like maybe 2 clutch changes in the entire life of the tractor.

Same applies for Deutz and Lamborghini tractors of the same vintage. Simple and reliable engines.

EDIT: Just saw an add for a Same Saturno 80, 4x4. Asking 10,000€, that would be $11,200. Kinda high for what it is, but I think pretty much all tractors when really high in prices.

Yes it spreads and sucks all the moisture out of the ground thus killing the lawn.

The more common name is Japanese Knotweed... like so many things which were brought over for landscaping during the Post WWII housing boom, it's turned into a nuisance. Roundup works although you may need to hit it a few times. I'm not a big fan of pesticides but when used appropriately they sometimes are the best tool in the toolbox.
The best way is to mow it, then spray the fresh sprouts. Just make sure that you hose out your mower good afterward, the stuff spreads like weeds.

It's especially bad near water; when it blooms the pollen is fatal to fish downstream.

Most of us aren't farmers, and only have limited time to use or work on them. You won't find much for 3K around here anyways, although if my brother has his way my father's 4400 will be on the market for a bit less than that.

I’d like to see a decent tractor with a loader for 3k. What’s the yuppie homeowner guy going to do with a 2wd dry clutch geared trans tractor on the 2 acres he owns? Plow up his yard?

The tractor pictured above is MFWD, 16 speed tranny with creep, front and rear diff locks, cat 1 3 point hitch with position and draft control, hydrostatic power steering, independent pto, rear hydraulic remotes and more...

I have $3,000.00 in it... there's always deals around...

BTW, I'm going to sell it to a friend for 3K...
