Why TBN isn't as enjoyable anymore

Tradition? 'The way it's done'?

Every other forum I've ever been on shows the rank of Staff Members in that area. Moderator, Global Moderator, Supreme Overlord of All Things .... you know. Usually the ID is in a different color too.

But who .. is the "Calhoun" ??

I know of at least one other that didn't until a recent software "upgrade" that switched forum software. It is a "4x4" type off-road site.
I don't think that any of the moderators on here care if anyone recognizes them as a moderator or want anything special for it.

And yet despite all these flaws we don't have to share you with many other sites. Well, with all those better places to post in at least your vote counts somewhere.

btw, are you mod, maybe a 'super delegate' or similar on any of the other sites? Should they be all alike in every detail, or do you just want easier targeting where you can drum it up?

What a great time this would be to start another website. That'd show 'em. You could be Supreme Overlord and wouldn't be obligated to fix what's wrong with TBN.

Interesting you bring that up. As an offshoot of my .com site, my IT told me I could initiate a forum anytime I wanted to (no, my IT isn't the forum owner here either). I've parked a .com site for over 10 years now and I don't want anything to do with a hosted forum. Plenty of them out there as it is. Most aren't worth a tinkers dam far as I'm concerned but this one is. Why I've hung around all these years.
