I had a set of saw horses with really long legs, maybe four feet or so, designed for use as a scaffold for working on something specific, periodically. Otherwise they were just used to store stuff while working on a job. I had them on some project I had hired the Mennonites to do. Came home and they had cut the legs off my saw horses! I was annoyed as much as I thought it funny, but never said a word, nor did they.

I love steel saw horses for all kinds of things, but prefer something of wood when using a circular saw, for obvious reasons.

I can't work with wood to save my life!

I am the opposite of you, wood I'm pretty good at... never learned the metal side of things. Wish I had, and wish I had a welder.. but I don't.

That's OK. I'm fixing to blow myself up using a plasma on a petroleum tank. No such dangers working wood.

Or just cross my legs like a woman, same as when I inflate a tire. Protect the boys from the blast zone!

I guess if you have an older sister you learn that early on.

I have had my tablesaw spit out a 4' sliver that punched a hole in the wall, never stand behind it always to the side.

I traded my table saw to a friend for a metal chop saw because it scared me. Went to his place to get some plastic ripped and ended up in the ER anyway. Stuff caught, shattered and got ejected at high speed.

Feather boards are your friend when using table saws and edgers etc...

You have 8 red handled tools in that photo and I can't make out what they are. What?

Those would be some of my clamps, you never have enough clamps!!

That is my clamp wall, you'll notice clamps of different styles almost all the way to the corner.

I believe this is what he is talking about, you are making a little "I" beam on top. This way you can make them as long as you want, I used a 2x5 on the bottom to give the legs a little more spread. I normally cut my legs at 32-36 inches depending what I'm using them for. These are 36" and are for a temporary island in my kitchen.

My dad used to make them like that. He'd knock out a few, as needed and get to work.

I was out in the shop today and counted the clamps on that wall in question. 45 total clamps there of several different varieties..:D

They are easy to make and very customizable, taller , shorter , whatever length you want, you can change the splay of the legs with a different width bottom piece. Whatever you want.

I have seen sawhorse ends with a box section that you slide a plank into, as soon as it is angled out it locks, I use the plastic horses as they store flat then the girls steal them for saddle stands.
Clamps, must have over 100, different types for different jobs and 4 10' ones I made for benchtops, building a guitar you use at least 20 at a time.

Yes, can never have too many clamps!! I have several pipe clamps that will go as long as the pipe you have is.

Well the last time I built a guitar, oh never mind I never built a guitar!

I have a couple plastic sawhorses, don't use them much.. and no horses! well other than sawhorses...:D
