Why TBN isn't as enjoyable anymore

Another of my 'peeves' is those that are self imposed 'grammar' police.

Shucks we all hit the wrong key from time to time and also anybody that is bilingual can easily misspell unintentionally.

Being French/English bilingual I know I often am guilty of inverting some letters and that does not even come close to wrong usage of verb endings nor all the accents used.
Suspect those that are bilingual Spanish/English have the same problem.

Perhaps it's time to think outside of the box and share suspending/banning power with the moderators? :soapbox:

We don't want it. We had it in the past. It made for more problems if a penalty was handed out and someone disagreed with it. Now, since the management is responsible for it, it takes the heat off the mods. As I mentioned earlier, I'm excited for the new system and hope it comes on-line quick. :thumbsup:

What "new system"? 10 strikes you're out? Has Muhammad issued an "Executive Order"?

I'm bilingual in English and incorrect English... I totally understand.

I never made any grades but "A" in English classes (had an excellent English teacher in high school), had an English professor in college who tried to talk me into being an English major, and I think I hated every minute of every English class throughout my school years. And then when I retired from the police department I was commander of the Planning & Research Division; spent a lot of time proof reading what my employees had written.

But I also learned to have someone else proof read everything I wrote, because errors are easily made, and we tend to not notice them in our own writing (or posting).

It is not just our own writing or posting where errors are easily made and we don't notice. It is our lives and the way we conduct ourselves thru life. Many errors are made, and often we don't notice. AND even when our errors are pointed out to us by others, we often don't comprehend we would benefit from changing those errors. i have some limited personal experience with that..
