In real life, I am VERY political. But when I go on TBN, I don't want to read anything about politics. And I don't want to know about anyone's politics on TBN. I've been a member for almost 20 years, and I've made a lot of friends on TBN, some that I socialize with in person fairly often. I don't want to do anything to destroy the friendships that I've made and I don't want to get into anything controversial that might start an argument. I just want to discuss tractors, country life and similar things. TBN is a great forum, and I hope it stays that way. Muhammad does a great job running this forum, and we all should appreciate TBN.

I agree.

This is the longest thread I have ever read maybe on any forum. In reading and thinking on it, an odd thought hit me. (that is not unusual I know) Leave the long bashing eacth other threads alone and let those be occupied with each other while the rest are enjoying TBN and normal conversation. This hit me after last rereading this thread last night and then visiting other threads how this one had so much shall I say tension in it and no other one I visited had such.
No idea how easy it would be to have threads once they reach a certain page count move to their own category so they are easy to bypass.

In spite of all the "flaws" this is one of my main sites

The coronavirus debacle was very disappointing for two reasons. The first being that Covid-19 has been the most important event this century, and we could not discuss it with respect with people we "know". The second was what I perceived as favoritism, by at least one Mod, for one political narrative...and typically he is a GREAT Mod!!!

The second site I frequent nearly every day is a Cast bullet site. As can be expected, it is very conservative so it ends up being a circle jerk of conservative opinions and viewpoints. I am a conservative, so this site allowed me to see how the "other side" thinks. Hearing from others let's me achieve "balance". I tire of the lunacy of CNN etc and am interested in what actual people think/believe. By "actual" people I mean those who do real work and support their families...not talking heads.

MossRoad nailed it in an earlier post. The same Cast of Clowns seems to be at the root of most, if not all, closed threads. I liken this to the current defund the Police BS. 98% are good, but 2% need to be addressed. Once the message is sent, most of the rest of us will settle down and the Mods will have less work to do.

IMHO 10 "strikes" are too many but you asked for opinions. Also, not all infractions are equal...that is how the Cast forum I mentioned does it...but maybe to cumbersome here. Good luck Muhammad!!!

On the subject of thread closings... maybe the particular post(s) could be highlighted for a little public shame.

Now THAT is a great idea!

Another of my 'peeves' is those that are self imposed 'grammar' police.

Shucks we all hit the wrong key from time to time and also anybody that is bilingual can easily misspell unintentionally.

Being French/English bilingual I know I often am guilty of inverting some letters and that does not even come close to wrong usage of verb endings nor all the accents used.
Suspect those that are bilingual Spanish/English have the same problem.

Ah, bonjour mon ami! (I was only taught 'Parisian' French, & not much of it )

btw, IMO conjugating verbs in French is almost as easy :)rolleyes:) as learning gender specifics with German pronouns.

LoL...I surely hope you are not excluding yourself entirely from this "cast of clowns"...! or perhaps you have a very short memory...it only takes a minute or two to go back and find some of your own posts (that were not pruned) that clearly contain partisan political references...that eventually led to the closing of several of the COVID threads....!
