The current 255ext sale price is the same as I paid 2 yrs ago. Fantastic welder. Ned to get the watercooler for it next.

We do have a cooler, and we do have torches, but you buy those separately. The cooler has a stainless steel pump with bronze impellor, sealed industrial motor, and a all copper core radiator/heat exchanger.

Here is the link to the cooler. PowerCool W35 (12V) - Welding Water Cooler | Everlast Generators
Mark, does the 255EXT simply pass through the input voltage to the water cooler? I mean, if running 240v, the cooler receptacle is 240v, but if running on 120v, the cooler receptacle is 120V. I realize that at 120V input the output is limited, and a water cooled torch would likely not be required. I just want to confirm that i need the 240v cooler when running the 255EXT on 240V input.

That is not the cooler for the 255EXT. The 255EXT cooler is 240V only. When running on 120V, you should disconnect or keep the cooler shut off and use the air cooled torch provided with the unit. Most people running on 120V go portable and don't want to carry the cooler. The cooler plug is wired directly off the switch, so it should only be used in 240V mode or it will only put out 120V on 120V input.

I have begun the process of looking at multi process welders. I have looked the millermatic 220 ac/dc, esab rebel 205ic ac/dc and the Everlast powerMTS 275 ac/dc. I think the Everlast might be the way I go, but I’m still not convinced with the manufacturing of Everlast. I’m interested in hearing others thoughts on these three welders.

Can't say I've burned much wire with it yet, but I'm quite happy with my .Everlast Power MTS 251si. The 275 goes it a few better with amp/duty cycle specs and having a dedicated setting for 6010 rods. I wish I'd had more experience with it, but jobs are going so quickly my accumulated spark time isn't what it'd be with the Miller or the Airco. (Synergic mode is even 'smoother' to use than the Miller's 'constant potential' feature.)

btw, the #36 TIG and #24(?) MIG torches are up to the machine's highest capacities, but I found them a bit much (BIG) for my usually <150 amp projects. I bought smaller of both which will use less costly consumables. (tips, gas diffusers) I bought an extra set of drive rolls, but everything else came with the package except wire and rods. (I use 2% lanthanated for TIG)

If a guy is considering Everlast, be assured that buying from Amazon etc. seems to offer zilch compared to ordering direct from Everlast as I did. The price/shipping totals were within $10 or so at the time (last year) and Amazon would have us deal with the company for warranty or service anyway.

.. I will leave it to you to tell him...

Right away, I think that fellow looks like more of a 'bead guy' than I ever was.

I'd be happy to stand next to him and see what's invited by whom and without uttering a syllable. :)
