I only happebn to know 13mm-1/2" and 19mm-3/4. No more bytes left in memory.

I wrote the size (all are metric now) of EACH oil drain plug on the painted surface near the radiator under the hood of the cars (and truck)

I can not even come close to guessing in metric,, and I sure do not want to climb under the car an extra time,,

I am thinking about writing the oil change date there,, also,, I now keep a magic marker in the socket drawer,, just to do this .

I wish they would mark, wrenches that match up, with BOTH markings. I only happebn to know 13mm-1/2" and 19mm-3/4. No more bytes left in memory.

I know some tool maker had that set with both marked at one time. I remember thinking it would be nice to have one of those sets. But, I didn’t buy it.
Might have been an online seller.

Thanks for that tutorial! And you are correct that I'm probably over thinking it. I'll try that pretty soon with one fixture over the dryer in the laundry room. :thumbsup:

I found this video helpful, and his fixture was wired exactly like mine. Your mileage may vary.

Somebody here probably remembers better than I, but at least at one time Honda and Toyota each used either all odd or all even sizes. Always grabbed the wrong ones to begin a job - 13, 15 and 17 when I should have had 14, 16 and 18mm.

Not sure if it's exact, but 7/16" is pretty close to 11mm.

I wrote drain plug sizes for my various vehicles on a sheet of paper taped to the inside of my tool box lid. Also list required filter, and recommended air pressure in tires.

Hey, I won the draw.
Back when we started metric the Cdn Gov't had a subsidy to re tool the workers.
Got a nice bundled set of metrics and the gov't paid 50%.
Still have most of them!
I was in aviation and Aerospacial choppers were all metric!
Dang gov't denied ratchets and extenders as they claimed they were imperial!
BUT, I got them for a new tool box claiming I needed to segregate imperial from metric.

You do know it was all on Clinton as he wanted US to access the European market? but backed down at last minute,. Problem was Canada did not follow suit so plywood is still 4 ft X 8 ft and 2 x 4 is still , LOL, close, Some other materials (mostly imports) are metric.

Oh well I have 2 tool boxes all gov't subsidized.

I have a largish socket set that has 3mm-3.5mm-5mm-5.5mm and an assortment of other small sizes that I am never likely to use but no 13mm, another time I went to a show (like your County Fairs) and bought a big ring spanner from a pair of travelling dodgy sellers, it was something like a 35mm for fixing a towball and the ring shattered first time I used it, by that time they were well and truly gone and I have no idea where as they travel from show to show and there are always about 4-5 going on somewhere.
Another $20 bit the dust.
