75F and cloudy @ 10:30, 60% chance of showers or thunderstorms for the day. Heading up to a high of 83F.

Chances for precipitation for the next three days after today are low, with highs in the mid-80's to low-90's ... so mowing will be on the menu at some point.

Junior woodchucks have already made several trips this morning. I'm beginning to think that a lot of it might just be an excuse to ride their machines ... who knew ?

Got a call a while back from the Kubota dealer that I somehow missed and it went to voicemail. Hard lines for the loader are in so I'll swing by there at some point and pick those up.

Probably hit Menards while I'm out, pick up current order and another two pallets of retaining wall block ... even though it's pretty much in the opposite direction. Need to check tire pressure in van before I do though.

Other than that, numerous possibilities for activities today ... might try and see if I can push multiple projects forward.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...

Back from the tests...and, boy, does this coffee taste good!
The ultrasound of the aorta went fine...quick too! What they were looking for is an aneurysm (swelling or bulge in the aorta) which there was no indication of one
I'm waiting for a call from the doctor who'll interpret the results of the CAT Scan. The scan was faster (2 minutes) then the UT...waiting for the doctor's results (today, supposedly) will take time

Roy,

Glad to hear no issues thus far, hopefully you'll maintain that record on the CT ...

Doc yesterday put me back on statins, said my LDL was too high despite my protestations about leg cramps.
She said that was because dose was too high, 80mg and she put me on 20. That plus baby aspirin daily should help with
avoiding blood clots she said. Ok, I'll try again. And then she said, after consulting another doc there, that would be good idea if
I had an implantable heart monitor put in, despite two weeks of another heart monitor showing absolutely nothing, have never had issues with heart
but I guess if one has had one stroke, however small, they get nervous. Personally I think they are trying to generate business, so now I'm referred back to
cardiologist who said I was fine three weeks ago. Hmmmm. Think I might object and ask cardiologist for a second opinion.
I was given the "if you have afib it can cause a clot in 6 seconds". ?? well, I don't have afib, and I wonder why the worry.
So it's back to trust but verify. ...

Yeah ... concur on getting the second opinion ...

My (ex) cardiologist and (ex) electrophysiologist wanted to outfit me with an ICD ... that was six years ago ...

As far as the "generating business" aspect goes, you can't overlook that ... but I really think it has more to do with "they do what they do" ...

When you've trained and specialized in using a hammer, everything just might start looking like nails.

The medical profession is incredibly risk-averse because the stakes are so high ... so that's a big factor in how they end up operating.

That kind of a note would have me looking for a new provider, Don.

Looks like it might be much ado ... about nothing ?

AT&T Tells Customers To Upgrade Their Phones To Avoid Losing Voice Calls -- Two Years Early - Slashdot

Getting a two-year head up on a potential issue probably isn't a bad thing ... particularly if you are on a 1 or 2 year contract (although I do understand that ATT no longer does fixed term contracts ... something that may be a mixed blessing I suppose ...)

But that's a bridge neither Drew nor I will have to cross, as we're both on Verizon. I do have a land line with AT&T (they have a monopoly on them here), and they've been anything but easy to deal with. Given any other choice I'd take it, and there's no way I'd sign up for cellular service from them. How that for a hearty recommendation? NOT!

I can't say that I haven't had any issues with ATT ... but then I had Verizon at one time and had issues with them as well so there's that ....

Ron,

Nice pic of the doe. Hope test goes well. Hope you (or Aunt ?) feels better soon.

Hear ya on the BS engines ...

PJ,

Hope work picks up for your company.

Thomas,

Every time I read about "E Muffin time :licking:" it makes me want one ... slathered in butter ...

David,

Glad your mowing went well. The repetitive backing upslope doesn't sound like much fun ... of course, it might not be too bad - depending on long of a run you have to take.

I'm thinking I'd prefer longer runs ... but my neck would probably disabuse of that idea in fairly short order ...

Eric,

Do both ... win/win ...

At&T is getting rid of 3G in 2022. Verizon is getting rid of it this year. Verizon is not accepting a change over with our phones (3G) now. At least I still have service for a year and a half with at&t. (Feb 2022). The email made it sound like it was going to be real soon - I almost thought it was a spam email because of the lack of details and the wording - other people did too.

Kyle, has Verizon reception gotten any better in your county. When visitors came to our place and had Verizon they had no reception.

Dental cleaning and exams in town this morning. Will do other errands as well. Hope to start mowing around the house if back early enough.
Two more truckloads of topsoil yesterday. Driver said about 15 yds/load. Likely the last I’ll get.

RNG you made the tank look salvageable.

RNG you fall into the category piling on many project, all going on at the same time. You will probably never get angst from the end of thrilling projects.

Yup - ATT's marketing department needs to be taken out back behind the woodshed and slapped real good.

That's the problem I had with Verizon as well.

Once you get a grapple .. you'll never know how you've lived without one. You'll need a 3rd function solenoid valve also and I can vouch for the WR Long. I've got them on both tractors and a prior tractor.

The Everything Attachment's Wicked grapples are a real value IMHO. I've got a 73" WG for utility tractors, on my 55 HP tractor and an 84" Blue Diamond on my 100 HP tractor.

I went with this one to get the 42.5" jaw opening primarily for picking up brush and trimmed tree limbs.

Mega Compact Utility Tractor Wicked Root Grapple from Everything Attachments

I use the big grapple for moving complete trees.

I was at the dealer about 4 weeks ago and they had a grapple for my little tractor that used linear actuators. It was very fast and rated for the same loads as the hydraulic unit for $1000 less and no power beyond needed. Got me thinking.

Yep I'll think about new phones in 17 months or maybe switch to Verizon to get their deal of the day for new lines If reception quality can be verified in the areas that I use the cell.

PM sent with Customer Retention Specialist number.

It's a wonder this didn't happen years ago. Given the excellent performance of Asian engines, especially Honda and Subaru, why would anyone buy something with a B&S engine in it, unless they just didn't know any better?:confused3:

Or they were tired of fueling Chinese expansionism. Most people aren’t buying the Honda, they’re buying the Chinese Honda knockoff, Predator.

Potentially could be a mess at supply pile, but the area where spread not so much. Worst case it would collect at low point and need to be respread, but I don’t think it would wash out of that area.

92/105, dew point 70°, a breeze is helping some. We missed the rain again, heavy rain and a bow echo just a couple of miles north. Looking at radar I didn’t see how it could miss us, but it did.

Good news Roy!

So far my production is below quota for the day, but maybe I’ll get motivated this afternoon.

Have a good one.
