No bad luck involved. Just me in a hurry and not paying enough attention. I've taken down about 12 large trees now. Enough that its time for some chain saw work so I can move them.

The right track in the hole was off. Hydraulics at least on this machine are strong enough to drag it with or without tracks turning.

I meant my method of pulling it with the tractor in cruise control probably wouldn’t have worked with a track off.

Misread. I see now. I'd be afraid of that method here on these steep slopes I'm working on.

So what did you have to do to get the track back on? Jon

Track went back on pretty easy. Open the bleed valve and used a block and bucket to push the track tensioner in. Jack and blocks to get the track in the air. After that a few 2" pipes between the teeth and front idler to get the teeth raised high enough and crow bar to get it back on. Took longer gathering the blocks and tools needed than the actual work.

Anyone following have any experience using a stump bucket. I'm considerjng the purchase of one for this project and several other stumps around the house. The 84" bucket makes one heck of a hole by the time you dig two or 3 sides. I would think the 20" width and serated sides would work much better and quicker at digging and cutting roots.

Experience probably helped also. Jon
