John Saxon died the other day I wouldn't call him a great actor but he played the quintesential bad guy in most roles . Lots of b movies too. I enjoyed lots of things he did. Support Bruce Lee in Entre the dragon , Arnold in Total recall. Starred in Scanners.:drink:

I seem to recall he played the bad guy in "The Appaloosa"...a Mexican bandit with the biggest fake accent I have ever heard.

I watched Greyhound last night. I had very high expectations for it and it was not disappointing. I’ve done a lot of reading on WWII history and it was pretty historically correct. Worth the watch.

A fairly recent film, Hugo (2011). It's a rather childish fantasy film, but it was quite heartwarming. I cried, and I'm not ashamed.

Yes, it was...I have a Blu Ray of that movie.
Unfortunately, it didn't do well in the theaters, but I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a cult favorite or a Christmas Classic

Agree, "Hugo" is one of my favorites. Won't agree that it is "childish". It takes a science fiction leap. Characters are simplified, but not more than pre-WWII movies. To me "childish" is what passes for teen soap opera on Disney.

Will repeat my recommendation of "Stardust". Based on a fantasy novel by Neil Gaiman. Neil has a sense of humor which is twisted similar to Terry Pratchett. Neil and Terry collaborated on several projects.

For Terry Pratchett: "Hogfather", "Color of Magic", and "Going Postal". Not really movies but 3 hour made-for-tv movies. Funny without a laugh track. Rewards the viewer for paying attention to catch the jokes.

Neil and Terry (posthumous) "Good Omens" series aired on Amazon.

For a real surprise, "Iron Sky". Nazis hiding on the dark side of the moon since WWII. An American president (who looks like Sarah Palin) running for re-election sends a black actor to the moon as a publicity stunt. Hilarity ensues. Then World War III.
