GOA. I switched a couple years ago. WP is a fat cat on your dues of which you have no voice. I've been done with the NRA for a while now.

I just know this thread is heading for a lock....................:D
I also stopped supporting NRA and started supporting Gun Owners of America several years ago!

Who, then? I would drop my NRA membership in a heartbeat if there was somebody else lobbying successfully for our rights, and sponsoring a replacement for the extensive firearms safety and training which the NRA has developed.
Gun Owners of America

I have been a member for life, but stopped paying dues a couple years ago. I even donated extra when O was in office. But there is no way any organization can keep from being corrupt when they have the same leader for 39 years. Term limits should apply to everyone in power. Cowing down on bump stocks was a slippery slope and they should have stood their ground. They gave an inch, the others will take a mile. I will sign up again if/when WP is gone.

I don't see how the lawsuit could have the authority to shut down the NRA. I'm also puzzled by the lawsuit itself. I thought the plaintiff in a civil trial had to be able to personally show damages. Perhaps the rules are different when the AG files the civil lawsuit?

The NY AG didn’t have any trouble shutting down the Trump Foundation. Similar circumstances, a not for profit misallocating funds.

This NRA suit is far from a sure thing. But shutting down a corrupt non profit is possible, legal and has happened.

What regulatory parallels exist between a labor union and a 501c4?

Internal Revenue Code (IRC) section 501(c)(4), requires the organization not be organized for profit and must be operated exclusively to promote social welfare.

I am with Eddie on this. It's
all about sapping money from the NRA using taxpayer money to support the suit.

I'm a member solely because they're the only game in town. I don't like their fear mongering or the incessant phone calls, emails, and junk mail asking for more money. Yet this is obviously yet another attempt to shut them down. What politicians don't understand is that "The NRA" doesn't vote; it's the people making up the organization who do.

With over 5 million members, most who are willing to strongly support 2nd Amendment Rights, the NRA can quickly raise many millions of $$s to fight the legal battle. This fight likely to go on for years in the courts.
