I have a 25+5 gooseneck flatbed with 2-10k axles with super single tires and I love it, you can definitely get them.

I wouldn稚 want a dump trailer of that capacity anyway. A medium duty truck would be a lot more useful IMO. Here痴 a truck I was looking at buying to add to my collection of 2 gravel bed dumps. It痴 a 14 flat dump. The 5500 is quite a bit lighter than my 6500 dump truck but I would say it would still handle 7-8 tons.View attachment 666843

Nice, but not an option. Already have dump truck.
I don’t want any more trucks. Already have too many engines, transmissions, axles, inspections, registrations, etc.
Trailers are much simpler and cheaper for me at this point. If my RAM can handle a 35,000lb trailer of hay, it will handle a much smaller dump trailer.

Yes but are the axles/wheels “narrow” enough for fold down sides?

On edit, it looks like hinges at the bottom of the sides on the midsota trailer.
I will look into it. Thanks for the info

On edit again, it looks like the Midsota versa trailer is only 93” wide with sides folded up. I need 96” (8’) minimum so I can slide 4’ wide round bales in and keep sides folded up.

Are you wanting to drive down the road with the sides down and be under the legal width? If you look past the legal part it’s probably workable but most deckovers already are the maximum width.

Negative. I want to have the sides folded up over the road. Found the 8’ deck over dumps are 96” inside to inside with sides folded.
Only want sides folded down for loading/unloading round bales and unloading pelletized fertilizer, pallets of brick & block, etc.

Can’t you just hinge them and then weld stops on the bottom of the trailer so they don’t rub the wheels?

Why do that instead of buying a 96” wide trailer? Safer and more secure loads

They’re probably going to need the stops on any trailer to keep them off the wheels unless the deck is way wider then the wheels which you wouldn’t purposely design for obvious stability reasons. I meant for the stops to go on the bottom so they don’t swing into the wheels when they’re down. If the stops kept them from hanging completely vertical you could make do with the wheels being the same width as the deck.

Gotcha.
I like the looks of the Midsota trailers, but the width being 93 inches is a killer. Im sort of amazed they didn’t go 96 inches.
96 inch clear width is mandatory for my task.

You mean 10K axles with single wheels? Biggest single axle wheel I can find is 9K and theyre expensive. 8K is a little more reasonable.
If you do 10K duals, that would make it tough to have fold down sides.

Single tire 10k axles are getting popular. My PJ has them, but not Deck Over. Diamond C shows them on their web site with the deck over, 3x7k, 2x8k or 2x10k.
