Not rocket surgery. Apply the most draconian restrictions to densely populated areas. Relax them in the boonies. States know the population density in every county and city. BTW our governor restricted travel at one point...that helps the concept of flexible restrictions. Of course those rules did not apply to the governor痴 family...just the peasants.

Except, our less densely populated counties are currently where most of the new cases are, and when you compare it to population as in cases per, it looks even worse.

Kind of obvious, isn't it? And blame those who get a disease vs those who do nothing to avoid spreading it.

How many other people die from something doesn't matter, only when it's your turn.

Cast down your masks and show 'em you're not afraid to go if/when it comes to your town.

"Out of sight, out of mind." See how easy that is?

btw, gotta go now, at 70 I'm taking up sky diving since I'll die someday anyway.
I keep looking at the sky diving thing. Maybe after i'm retired i'll give that a go.

Vaccine? Is that because masks are not effective?

How about those Chinese in Wuhan? Back to university, thousands together in "water parks"* , All without a vaccine. How are they doing it? Is it just reporting?

* With the Three Gorges Dam flooding, the entire city of Wuhan may become a water park.

^^THIS^^

Rural settings just take longer for it to get there, but if no mitigation measures are in place it spreads the same as anywhere else

My sister in rural Montana initially bragged how well they were doing, when travel was largely shut down. No mitigations were implemented. Now that travel is occurring their county has exploded with a very high number of per capita cases/deaths.

In contrast, I live in very rural NY. We benefitted by not having many initial cases because of our isolation. However, because we are in NY state, we were subjected to all of the more stringent restrictions. Consequently, we have maintained a very low infection rate.

Over the summer, my University had half a dozen cases where individuals traveled, and brought it back, showing symptoms 5-10 days after returning. Luckily, in every case they followed University and state guidelines to quarantine for 14 days upon return, and so did not spread it to anyone else.

No, it's because a multi-pronged approach is most effective. Masks don't stop everything, just as vaccines aren't 100% effective.

Just because they aren't 100% effective doesn't mean they don't decrease transmission rates.

Sometimes I think I may have had this Flu last year.

I don't want to get tested. Not interested in the implications. Just like I wouldn't want to be tested for a bunch of other stuff I may have and don't know I have. I sleep better that way.

This whole thing makes me think, how many people had to remove their shoes prior to boarding an aircraft because of ONE nutcase (Not Terrorist) or give up your Mouthwash and toothpaste because of one other.

This must have been similar to the hysteria during the Salem Witch Trials. With the Internet, can you imagine how that would have spread? Now, if we could only bring back McCarthyism (sp?).

Fear Mongering is always the best way to make a point. Regardless of the validity of the point.

You may have had A flu last year. COVID19 isn't a flu virus.

You can still take mouthwash and toothpaste on an airplane.

Just keep spreading half truths and misinformation. That'll help everyone get through this much faster.

Sorry, last I heard you couldn't take those things on an aircraft. But that begs the question. What changed? It all seems so arbitrary.

We the People, should stand up and put an end to this non sense. That would be faster. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. In the end, you MUST be willing to die for what you believe in.

If you removed the non truths and half truths from this site, it would be nothing but a skeleton. lol
