My Netgear LB1120 Modem has a static IP address of 192.168.5.1 which is default and my router has a static of 192.168.0.1 which is also default and the the DHCP starts at .2. I did very little changes on my set up, basically plugged it in and did minimal config. I'm curious if you may have an IP address conflict hosing it up? The modem and the router can't have the same IP address. So my modem acts like any othe rmodem where you have a LAN port out and that is the 5.1 address and then plugged into my router WAN port which has the 0.1 address. Then the router hands out DHCP to all wired and wireless devices. I kept my modem in router mode and doesn't seem to affect anything. So basically my router is pulling 1 IP address from the modem and then doing my DHCP at the router. I'm no network genius but have some experience and I have no issues with my set up.

I had changed IP addresses for them so they were different, and even set a range of address in 1 of the devices, per some other discussions i found online.. but i know they were NOT the same..
it's been a whole week, and the Nighthawk works perfect, for wifi, but my 2 devices i need hard wired to aren't able to work till i figure this out..

I’m confused about your setup.
If you have a modem, that uses 192.168.5.1/24 as it’s lan ip, you’re router has to have 192.168.5.x as it’s WAN ip. Then on your router LAN, set your network different i.e. 192.168.1.x and set all your home devices to use that network. Or you are using a bridge, switch or access point and not a router.

Verify that your DHCP pool is large enough to accept ALL of the possible devices that you want to use. Verify that you don't have static addresses configured in your hardwired devices. Also verify that your subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 and isn't accidentally configured wonky.

What's confusing? The modem is 5.1 and handing out DHCP from it's ethernet port to the router's WAN Port and then the router is handing out 1.2 through 1.x for DHCP to the wired and wireless devices. Works just fine. Different subnet's is the key. You can connect a switch directly to the modem's ethernet port if all you need is wired ports and it will give you DHCP through it's ethernet port.

I have a similar setup. Mobley connected usb to netgear router running golden orb, ethernet to ubiquity router, multiple vlans for wired and wireless. All dhcp.

My Netgear Nighthawk M1 router has been working great with the mobley sim in it until a couple of days back. It would not turn. I tried various things but after leaving it unplugged and the battery out of it overnight, it powered right up and has worked good every since. Looking back I probably could have pulled the power cable and battery then held down the power button for 20 seconds or so to deplete all power.

Just thought I would share in case someone else has this problem. Also, I bought this antenna that I mostly use in my travel trailer. I use the OpenSignal phone app to locate the tower direction and place the antenna in a window facing that direction.

I'm not sure if what device you have makes a difference. AT&T's delivery seems to be intermittent. Obviously your proximity to a tower and how reliable that tower is has an impact.

My ZTE Velocity will work flawlessly for days and sometimes weeks then all of a sudden it will require restarting to restore full speed or even a connection. Sometimes it has to be restarted every time we want to watch a streaming program. Sometimes when I restart it the connection light will be red indicating it has no connection. Most of the time red or green it comes back with a 7 to 20 Mbps signal and all is good for however long I receive data. I have the time out set to "never sleeps" and it doesn't seem to change in the wifi manager.

I have resigned myself to accepting this is a small price to pay for paying a small price. :)

I have tried a couple of different antenna setups and none have made a difference for me. Right now i have two different yagi setups in the attic. One is aimed at the Verizon tower and the other at the AT&T tower. (Wife has a Verizon phone and I have AT&T) Both towers are about 6 miles away at a lower base elevation than my house is. Ironically my AT&T cell phone has a very poor signal in my house but works great in my attic. When I first put the yagi in the attic facing the AT&T tower it seemed to make a difference in my signal on the phone. Since then it has gone back to just like it was so my improvement must have just coincidentally occurred on a good weather day or something. Both of our phones will break up and drop calls on some days and some days they work fine.

Yes, different subnet to make it work. I read your previous post different.

I prefer static ips for a lot of my equipment, especially things I need to remote access or port forward, and like to keep similar equipment organized together.

I installed my Wilson weboost today, and got a 20 dB improvement on my mobley.

My Mobley only has issues with connecting to a tower not 3 mi away. I tried moving it but with minimal results when giving it 'line of sight' positioning and various orientations to get the most from the internal antenna.

Doesn't help the I'm in Central MI and AT&T routinely 'puts me out' and shows me as connecting in Akron, Ohio. I can get 13 down, 2 up, and ping at < 50 ms if I use speed test from AT&T there in Akron, but only ~5.5 down and 1.3 up and ping ~65 ms from any other server. (Ann Arbor ~ 50 mi away, etc)

Not asking for help, but it's good to know it's here when/if I need it. Thanks, guys! :)

btw, as of July 2020 if not much earlier:

The "Mobley Plan" option is no longer available, but existing customers are grandfathered in.
