I have to respectfully disagree with you both...

I like my my power auto tilt and retracting steering wheel on my BMW. It's faster than me getting in/out. Also nice to have a couple of seat/wheel/mirror saved settings so my wife (who is quite a bit shorter than me) and I can rotate driving the car without either of us having to make any adjustments other than the rear view mirror. We share the car quite a bit.

I have long legs so I need the wheel closer to my torso than an average stature person for comfort. But that means it needs to retract for me to easily exit.

I could kinda see the point in a car but who is moving their truck steering wheel? I move mine when I need to take the dash plate off and that’s about it. I’m not even a big fan of the power adjust seats. But they are nicer seats I’ll give them that. The tow mirrors that fold in when you park but someday they’ll leave you stuck with them in. The running boards that fold up what’s the point? And probably the worst “feature” of all that I absolutely can’t stand is the SUV hatches that fold up at the speed of molasses.

Well we are talking creature comforts! :D I do have the power tilt/zoom feature (not automatic) on my 2006 F150. Since my wife rarely drives it, I don't move it much at all.

I definitely agree with you on SUV slow closing hatches!

I'm not exactly fat but often do move the steering wheel out of the way before getting out. Turn off ignition, slam wheel up and get out.

I gotta say I like the clean lines of the interior of my 08 Sierra SLT. This ford I have here is terribly clunky and chunky in it's dashboard. No elegance at all in this design.

I see your point about folding mirrors and power seats but I love the molasses hatch on my yukon and I'll be sad when it quits working. I can open it from a distance as I'm approaching and it's open when I get there with arms full of stuff. Dump my stuff and hit the button, it's closed before I can get my seat belt on.

I guess you have to get used to opening it up before you get there. I drive my wife crazy because I don't pull my keys out of my pocket to push the button until I get to the driver's door... let alone walk around and open her door. I do make an exception if she is wearing a dress though... for some reason that kicks in the manners my dad taught me.

Hey - the Taco Wagon has every feature that they could cram on it. There are a few that I seldom use and others I use each time I drive it. The memory seats are nice. They back up and drop to the floor when the truck is turned off. This is the way I have programed it. Allows for my super-human leap into the truck w/out banging my head.

I appreciate the way the truck pairs up with my cell phone. I can make/receive calls with my voice. No fumbling around for the phone.

More times than not my keys are in the ignition. Even if they weren’t I’m not following how your hands are to full to open the hatch but yet you managed to dig the keys out of your pocket and hit the button. And I don’t trust it to work. More times than not stuff has to be re arranged to get it to latch. I’d never walk away and hope for the best. And you hit the nail on the head part about it not working. A manual hatch is pretty much going to always work. An electric hatch is pretty much guaranteed to break and it’ll be expensive to fix. The last truck I had got permanent position seats because the power seats shorted out. The manual seats in my dump truck are putting in 3 decades of working. My suburban got permanently extended tow mirrors because they wouldn’t go back in. One of my family members had the same mirrors and they froze and stripped the gears. My suburban has 300,000 miles and is riddled with problems but they’re all electrical. The drivetrain is solid. My no frills ton truck that’s 28 years old and has had nothing but abuse since it was built and it’s still fully functional. The mechanical injection diesel still works, the 5 speed manual trans still works, the manual locks still suck. If it was 4wd the manual transfer case would still engage, the manual windows still go up and down, the manual position seats still work.

I do like the Apple carplay. It works well with my business lifestyle with business contacts, saved places and road tunes all in one place.

Suit yourself. Personally I find it annoying when individuals rag on stuff that others happen to like having.
Buy and use what you want and leave the rest of us alone. I dont care what you think about how my truck is optioned. If the bells and whistles quit it is my concern.

I agree that how you spend your money is your concern. However, what I find annoying is how often people complain about the price of trucks; when it's the bells and whistles that they actually are paying for... oftentimes nearly doubling the price of the vehicle.
