PITA is exactly right! No room to move or get tools in, very stiff hose, no leverage. Took about 30 seconds to find it, almost 15 minutes to get it off.

Looks like a regular radiator hose to me. I had to cut it with a PVC cutter to get it off.

Called the local Kubota dealer, nothing in stock for any Kubotas dealers in the area (there was one about 100 miles south of me). So I just messicked the part.
Now I'm glad I did: I didn't know there was something called "Hydraulic Suction Hose". So thanks for posting that DL.
I almost tried the O'Reilly's radiator hose thing like I did for the lower radiator hose, but then decided I didn't want to have to ever replace this thing again. Now I'm glad I'm going to do it right. Means the tractor will be down for a week or so. Which also means it will be another week before we find out if this is the problem.
Thanks for the help.

Since it was a sudden failure and not gradual, it might have sheared the pump shaft. Being a GST tractor, it all relies on the pump to engage the clutch packs for forward/reverse plus steering.
How hard is it to take the pump out to check the shaft?
