Shepler's was bought by Boot Barn in 2015. Sad!

I loved Shelper's because they had lots of leather clothes. Didn't Stelzig (sp) in Houston go out of business?

Just about all the good western wear places by me went the way of the do do bird. Once a store gets bought out by another it usually turns to crap. Kinda like bass pro buying cabelas , which sucks now. Does anybody know of a good place to send out a cowboy hat to get cleaned and reshaped. I have a 20 x I'd like to take care of .:drink:

Not me. I only have a Palm Leaf hat, called a Tularosa. I can get it wet and reshape it.

Leo moved Stelzig's from Downtown out to the Galleria in the 80's. When they widened loop 610 .. eminent domain took that store. Leo passed about 15 years ago and last I knew they had a store in Terminal C out at IAH. I primarily traveled out of terminal E.

Leo moved Stelzig's from Downtown out to the Galleria in the 80's. When they widened loop 610 .. eminent domain took that store. Leo passed about 15 years ago and last I knew they had a store in Terminal C out at IAH. I primarily traveled out of terminal E.

I went to the store closing sale. It was just Sough of the Galleria.

Last time I was in Terminal C, Continental took up all of C. Back when I worked on B727 and DC9 freighters at IAH, I had parts shipped in and had to pick up the packages at the passenger baggage desk. I had to park outside the terminal. That was a pain.

When I borrowed parts or tools, I could just drive down the ramp and park under the gate where Continental had their parts and tool room. Lots easier. I really enjoyed working at IAH and having unlimited ramp access. We could waste an hour just driving around all the terminal's access roads. Lots of tunnels around the terminals. Terminal D was just opened then. Had to shy away from D, as I didn't have international access on my badge.

I got international access at HOU, a few years ago when SWA started flying down south. But I never cared to go over there and didn't.

Did you retire Brandi? Im still at the (Continental)--United. IAH maint. 33 years, started when I was 20. I had to get a new profile here, my previous disappeared. I have a Cat also now, old D6C and a 97 Massey 283.
