I know, but still...
I remember hearing about an "outsider" who had been living in a coastal town for years. He was talking to a native one day and asked why he was still considered from "away". "We-ll", the old timer says, because you came from that Boston-town." The outsider then asked "But my kids were born here, surely you must consider them local?"
The old timer replied "If your cat has kittens in the oven, does that mean they are biscuits?"
I know what you mean though. It isn't that transplants are completely unwelcome; it's just that so many move into an area, then try to turn it into what they moved here to get away from.
Gotta remember that one!
