How long will my new sign last?

I know, but still...

I remember hearing about an "outsider" who had been living in a coastal town for years. He was talking to a native one day and asked why he was still considered from "away". "We-ll", the old timer says, because you came from that Boston-town." The outsider then asked "But my kids were born here, surely you must consider them local?"
The old timer replied "If your cat has kittens in the oven, does that mean they are biscuits?" :D

I know what you mean though. It isn't that transplants are completely unwelcome; it's just that so many move into an area, then try to turn it into what they moved here to get away from.

Gotta remember that one!

Been here in 20 years, never can think of anything that I tried to change locally other than the local county government gasing dogs in a crowded gas box at the landfill (what got us involved with the local human society, and that did change, for what I think was the better other than the fact you still have to kill unwanted dogs).

Live and let live, try to respect another mans property and his family, and to get some resepct, you have to show some respect. I find those words can go a long way no matter where you live.

That said, I didn't move next to a pickle or hog plant or chicken farm:D

My only point is be it some kid from the city or some kid from the farm, kids tend to do stupid things. The bigger question is why grown adults do stupid things, particularly vandalizing no tresspassing signs per the topic of this thread if adults are the culprits.

If you cat has kittens in the oven, they are nothing more than cats. Likewise, if a human female is popping out a kid, nothing more than another human kid. Reminds me of the old, very unpolitical polish joke - you hear about the polish couple who were studying and learning the French language? Yeah, they were adopting a baby from France.

Question becomes how that animal (two or four legged) critter is raised after it's born IMO.

The guy I bought my last ZTR has a store up the road (local store, been around forever). The guy is about as "local" as I thought you could get, particularly with his southern dialect (turns out he married the original owners grand daughter into the business). He tells me people around still think of him as a darn yankee because he moved from Indiana to NC at the age of 4, and that was over 50 years ago:laughing: (he was just letting me know that I'll always be a darn Yankee no matter what I do;))

On signs---
I have had 'no parking' 3 stolen that we installed at the fire hydrant at our lake.
The hydrant is at our public lake access site.

Also 'wash B4 launching' signs have been taken.
Our major concern is getting the lake polluted with the milfoil weed infestation, should that happen the lake would be ruined and there is no cure.
It is a weed that propagates from the smallest particle.
Absolutely no cures, only prevention!.
