I've got a UTube video shooting a tractor and high speed planter. It ends with me backing into trees at the end of the field at 10mph..... :ashamed:

Nice video till the end,
amazing what can be done these days.
If you tried to plant that fast in our ground the individual planter units would be bouncing out of the ground.
With the no till planter and grain drill here we run about 3 mph any faster and you are just breaking things.

Chances are prop guards aren't going to save you from that.
Prop guards have saved me from damage from wires, branches, and early on a "pilot error" where it slammed up against the side of my house and did a cartoonish slide down the brick wall. I first flew mine in my house and purposely bumped walls just to see what it could take.

Seeing it bump against a wall with no damage was sort of like the first time I laid down my Suzuki 250. It was in the snow and slow, no damage. Lot's of fear as it happens the first time. No problem the second time.

I wouldn't advocate trimming trees or cutting the grass with it but so far I'm on the first set of props (about 5 km of distance, 8 hrs of flight time and half a dozen instances)

Ouch... poor mini. Glad to hear you have that protection. I have a lot of trees around my place and I am almost too careful to not do some unintended pruning. As such, it doesn't make for the most graceful video clips.
Highly recommend flying with prop guards.
I routinely fly down a "tunnel" of trees on my 80 yards of driveway.
Obstacle avoidance would have been nice, but expensive and a bigger drone.

I bought a Mavic Air 2. Have only run a few batteries through it and still getting used to controls before I mess with pictures and videos much. But so far it's been great and easy to fly. So much easier than the toy drones I've messed with that are like trying to balance a ball on the end of a stick.

My UTube stuff is simply under my name.

Here let me help you. This link will take you to the crash video.

I have one very similar to that. Filming a house, focused on the camera shot, failed to realize I was crabbing into some tree limbs. I was just so happy that it didn't plunk into the lake right next to them. Repair was about 400 bucks too.

I also have to fly with my avoidance switched off almost always, or it's protesting all the time.

You have one of the best drones Racenut. Have fun.
Had to laugh at Richards video. I think I would have cut that bit out. LOL

My DJI Tello pocket drone is a wonderful inside the house drone though my wife don't agree. I've flown it into her hair more than one time and one time into the bedroom while she was napping. I guess waking up with a drone whizzing inches above your head causes one to be crabby.........:D

Hoping for some good weather thru the next week so I can fly. I need to hone my skills so I can try some farm equipment video with the E2P. I want to utilize the zoom in 2x or 3x to get some very closeup shots without being in the operator's way. Would be a bit distracting to have a drone 20ft from the cab....

I flew mine for the first time in several months and I was bad. I taped a fishing line to the bottom and flew it around a tree and back so I could attach some parachord and then pull an antenna line. A bit of precision work and I was worried my fishing line would foul a prop and bring the drone down. No fail but but (yeah studdering) I was very nervous and struggled with my left/right and yaw.

Interesting use of the drone. Wonder if a person could use a drone to string Christmas lights on a big pine tree?? I'm thinking one of you drone owners needs to try this...

To be proficient I need to fly a couple times a week.

Anything less and I'm shaking like a leaf on the controls. Now add a drone change and I'm a mess....

Music on a video has to be carefully selected. My drone friend Francis in France does it the best. Usually elevator music. :)

It was actually my wife's brilliant idea. It saved me the embarrassment and hassle of trying to throw a string tied to a rock and miss my target or worse throw my arm out! Definitely a two person operation though to manage the line.

I might experiment to see if I can easily lift 1/8in parachord instead of fishing line. That will eliminate one step of the process.

I really like this idea. I was thinking I could fly some fishing line around a high branch I want to bring down in a controlled way, then I could use the fishing line to pull a nylon rope, and then a chain with the nylon rope. I've done sketchier things, but I have lots of high dead limbs I want to get down. Hmmm...

Thanks LittleBill,

I also think I found one for the Mavic 2 Pro that I have:

Amazon.com: O'woda Mavic 2 Drone Airdropper Clip Payload Delivery Transport Device Wedding Drone Fishing Bait Search & Rescue Tool for Mavic 2 Pro/Zoom (Not for Mavic Pro): Toys & Games

Might be worth a try for $50 but the Amazon reviews make it sound a little sketchy. Need to look around on youtube for some video demo/reviews. I am also trying to find what is the lift capability.

Edit: I see the recommended payload is 500g max.
