Building an 8遅16 gooseneck dump trailer

Like I said before I think Pj and Load Trail are well built but the Pj dealer near my not so good when I was looking so I went with Load Trail......I told him what I wanted over the phone and had a email quote before I got home........

I called my local Load Trail dealer for a quote 2 weeks ago. Crickets. Called him back again early this week, said estimates are coming in very slow.
So for now, Im looking at:
1. DC @ $16,500 20,000lbs 10k torsion axles 17.5s, 2 month wait.
2. Sure Trac @ $12,950 16,000lbs oil bath 8k axles 17.5s, in stock next week.
3. PJ @ $11,400 18,000lbs oil bath 8k axles 17.5s, available, but a 700 miles away.

The PJ is far and away the best value in terms of up front cost, but it is 650 miles away. So being honest, its another $1,000 whether I get it or have it delivered. I think the Sure Trac would be fine, but 5.5 ton payload is not really what I was looking for. I also just bought a new round baler, so Im less in the mood to buy the DC, so’s my bank account :laughing:

You will go NUTS looking if your anything like me, I drive my wife nuts looking at stuff, I would make the PJ trailer guy a offer and have the meet you half way or take some money off for fuel....

Oh believe me, I am going nuts because theres no inventory. Theres maybe 10 trailers available in the entire US built the way I want. Deck over dumps are non existent.
I may try to get them to bring the trailer to Ohio and meet them there.

Maybe Im overthinking this, but you have to wonder: if the jacks are welded on backwards, what else might be wrong with it?
Also heard PJ paint jobs are about as bad as they get.
Seen a lot of 5 yr old PJ trailers with considerable paint wear or rust

Jack is backwards? So the handle turns the wrong way? Now paint, thats something else.

Yeah handles face out instead of in, but also the skids on the jacks face backwards so they are like strapping a pair of skis on backwards

No look the skids or shoes are right there bent up front and rear.....
