If your muskrats are like my mountain beaver, you will have erosion. Hoping not.

Those dang pests are tunneling just above the creek I carved to divert water around a flat area at the bottom of a hill. They end up plugging and flooding the area I'm trying to keep dry so I can mow it.

Muskrats... another good reason to have that dam built at a walkable angle so you can set traps in the deep runs if needed.

A friend of mine's Son is trapping muskrats out of my two ponds now. Never had them until my neighbor below me got them. So I talked to her yesterday about having him trap there too. I'm paying him $10 per rat. She's doing the same.

In Missouri you can't legally trap until season which starts 01 November. I found that out by talking to this young man about trapping early last Summer. Couple weeks ago my Son said he talked to the Game Warden and he said if they are a nuisance or damaging your pond you can request exemption from that restriction. He said he always approves the request and simply gives you a "special permit".

I'll have my trapper back next year the first time I see evidence of them being back.

Checked the pond before heading out of town until Monday. Ground should be ready to work when I get back. A little bit of water from the rain but not much so should be able to just drain with my 2" trash pump on Monday.

Both machines total I have somewhere between 140 and 160 machine hours on this project. Plus a lot of manual labor hours.

Yeah, that doesn't look as bad as I feared. We got 2" of rain here. Raised my ponds a bit.

I think we got an inch or less. No hard rain for runoff.

Awesome Jeremy. Weather looks dry for the next ten days. Problem is it simply doesn't dry now. I figure I'm done moving dirt with the road grader for the year. Hope it works out for you to finish!!!

If the forecast holds I should be good. No rain showing for the next 14 days. As long as we get some sun it should dry out.
