I have a 1977 B7100 4x4 and am wondering if it would be capable of running a 4' bush hog?

Thanks
Tom

Tractor data shows 13hp for your pto ,The rule of thumb is 5 pto hp for every foot of cutter . So it would work if you went slow or not take a full cut on the heavy grass and weeds..:2cents:

In some conditions but it will be happier with a 42".

3 point hitch rear lift is 400 lbs so you need a lightweight cutter and front weights or loader...

I used to run a 40" mower on a B7000 some time ago. It was a nice match for it. Enough to cover the tracks but not too big to overload the tractor.

Thank you all for the responses. I haven't purchased the cutter yet so I will look into something a bit narrower. I do however have front weights that I hang when I use my 3-point hitch scoop to move dirt, rock and materials.
Thanks again for your help.

Well that is good to know. What I was finding was that the 42" is less common and seems to be more expensive.
Thanks for responding

FYI I have a B7200 (14hp at pto) an old JD54 48" rotary cutter (very heavy) it lifts it just fine and cut great. I have 3 front weights on it.

Good Luck
David
