Dealer Service Disappointment

Okay, the mechanic is a gorilla. Be thankful the dealer stands behind the work. Not all would. You've got a good one.

Bingo.

Actuallly, I'm surprised.

Yeah, like others here, i`m surprised they bothered to even go the extra mile to come get the tractor and fix it.
There is more stupid out there than people really think, and they work on your cars and trucks, too!

I`ve worked in MANY a dealerships thru the decades, i can sure tell you ALL some horror stories i`ve witnessed. And i do mean some real bad horror stories.
Sometimes, IF, you can find a decent dealer, sometimes some stuff can be overlooked and maybe just let it go, but sometimes, there are things you CANT just let go. Been there and done it.

There are good and bad dealership`s out there everywhere, just have to figure out how much stupid you can really deal with.

But in the grand scheme of things, it waste`s people`s time when others screw up.

I agree. The dealer could have told me to go pound sand.

If he were to offer to give me the part.... I'd be happy to install it myself. I don't think it's too awfully hard.

I hear ya my friend. I would certainly question the rest of the work they did, if it were me.
Yup, i would have told them to just give me the part, i`ll do it myself so they wouldnt have a chance at screwing ANYTHING up, again.

I come from many decades of working in dealerships, i despise them to be honest with you. I dont trust any of them, and i have GOOD reasons not to trust ANY of them.
I always verify with a walk around before AND after the work is completed on every one of my vehicles if i have to leave them. I`ve caught them lieing to me more times, than not.

Yes, I do appreciate the fact they are willing to man up and fix it.

That's why I've been using them for 20 years.......

Better stay with them. One boo boo in 20 years.

Its been more than one.... But it could be worse......

I dealt with a dealer many years ago who was a complete A**, so I think this dealer is pretty decent overall.

That cover shouldn't need to come off to replace the safety switch. Possible it wasn't the guy that worked on it but maybe the delivery driver?

Something that noticeable I would doubt the tech would try to pretend it didn't happen and rather catch it before it went out the door, it does take some force to break that plastic too.

Not sure I'd trust them to take my tractor again. I would ask for the part and put it on myself.

Plastic on tractors is a BAD idea,.....but it's cheap !!!

It seems to me that most plastic seems to get brittle over the years. A piece that might snap in and out the first 5 years shatters if you do it at 20 years. So, I am not a fan of plastic either, but what are you going to do.

Yes, as far as I can see, no reason to remove that cover. So yes, it is possible someone else (delivery guy) broke it.

Whoever broke it had to have known they did it.

I have checked the price of that cover and it's $100. (Part #6C230-99652)

No one has them in stock so I guess it would have to come in from Japan.
