The nurse (Dixie McCall) in Emergency was Julie London who was a fairly popular singer in years past. On of her hits was, “Cry me a River”. Just a FYI

And she was married to one of her co-stars, Bobby Troup. He was a jazz pianist and songwriter He wrote "Route 66".

Well, I guess you aren't gonna find too many archived IQ tests from thousands of years ago.

You might could argue the cave paintings in france were intelligence tests, or not.

Don't you just love, might could? A dirivitive if that is...ustacould

Standard answer... "google it". ;)
Actually I did before I even asked the question; and the articles contradict themselves. I saw nothing more than mere speculation and projection.

We're basically the same animal we were 100,000 years ago; however, the gene pool is much larger and our society is able to save and maintain those who would have perished chasing Mammoths in Wyoming., so we probably have more lower IQ individuals proportionally. I suspect the genes for intellect are still in the pool, and if anything they have increased also. After all, it takes a more intelligent human to design a computer program or an Atomic submarine than it does to kill and butcher a gazelle. It was our intellect, our curiosity, the unimaginable dexterity of our hands and our permissive culture that allowed us to reach this sad state of affairs.

One must venture away from the network channels and explore in Netflix, AmazonPrime, etc.

Anyone watch 'Rectify'? Brilliant.

'Schitt's Creek'? Also.

Schitt's Creek is on The CW now (OTA TV channel). I have a philosophical issue with paying for television. There is enough of interest to me on free TV to waste more time than I'm willing to spend.

I do appreciate a DVR, though. I like being able to watch on my schedule and skip the commercials. Even when watching live TV, it's nice to be able to pause and rewind a little.

Has anyone ever noticed that no one ever takes their shoes off when entering a home in virtually any TV series or movies?

Never mind thousnds of years of change. The brain seems like any other muscle if you ask me. You must use it to not only keep it strong but make it even stronger/capable. Don't use it and it becomes weak and useless.

My Dad always said when it costs more to watch tv than what my water costs (he said this years ago $ 7.00 month) - I'll not pay it. The water is worth far more than tv. He still has an antenna albeit a digital one.

If you have a smart tv or a Roku it's also available for free on the POP channel.
Unfortunately, we lost all our OTA tv (except one PBS station which I never watch) with the digital conversion. Never bothered with a DVR, if I miss a show, I miss it. Not the end of the world.

But there's always a parking space right in front of wherever it is they want to go.

As far as shoes go, other than my own family I don't know of anyone who removes shoes before going inside. We were always brought up that way but it doesn't seem many others were.

The parking thing for sure. No one ever hurries to the bathroom either. I meant, taking shoes off before entering living quarters. Not necessarily taking them off outside.

No wonder you guys don't like wall to wall carpet. If I intended to wear my street shoes in the house, I could see that would be disgusting too. Given wet or dirty conditions, even the cats have to have their feet cleaned before entering.
