What do you do with your Instant Pot you cant do with a crock pot?

Our dehydrator is an old American Harvest Snackmaster. It came with 4 trays, but I've added 4 more over the years. It's well over 25 years old, as we bought it shortly after we got married. They don't make it anymore, but they make similar ones that I imagine work just as well or better.

I did 5 kinds of hot peppers in it a couple months ago and just got around to grinding them up last week in the food processor.
Thai hot, Hungarian Yellow Wax, Anaheim, Cayenne and Jalapeño.




That gave me a nice bowl of colors and bag of goodies.



I used the food processor to grind them up and basically made weaponized chili death powder. COVID mask came in handy when transferring from processor to canning jar, outside the house, and I still got choked out.... good stuff! :laughing:

Death by chili pepper, oh man, I would not want to go that way. I grew some peppers that are supposed to be 20 times hotter than a jalapeño. I have not been brave enough to use any of them yet so I froze them. Some day I will have forgotten where they came from and ..... death by chili pepper. :shocked:

Same here. We bought a dozen yellow sweet peppers from a traveling veggie peddler but they were not sweet. These things are so hot they are inedible, at least by us. We will try a minuscule piece in our next batch of chili.

A day or two ago I didn't know what a instant pot was :laughing:
Then I remembered that pile of "stuff" that I didn't throw out over a year ago when Dad died.
It's unused and was in a pile that's destined for my daughter's house, (she's just starting out) and I thought she might have a use for it living alone and working all day. I'm not a "gadget" guy, but 'y'all have me thinking now.
I haven't un boxed it yet, still on the fence but buckeye's ribs may just push me over. Not big on soups or saucy dinners and I chucked all the way through this thread when it came to wives and pressure cookers or new gadgets, I'm in the same boat. I'm a cooking on wood fire or the smoker type myself. Now I have to deal with my conscience considering that for over a year, (in my mind) it's been for my baby daughter. :drink:
edit; it's a "Lux mini" and just might be too small for the 2 of us anyway.

Ours is the 6 qt. .. and I often wish I'd gotten the 8 qt.

Ours is 6 quart which is about perfect size for a whole chicken with vegetables. An 8 quart would be nice at times when guests are over and we need to do a bigger batch of whatever. When the family is over they sometimes are the eat on the go type and I just keep a big pot of soup going.
