What have you done to your Branson today?

After completing the job, looking back, would it have been easier to take the radiator and shroud off first, or the way you ended up doing it?

Just wondering, in case I ever have to do mine (different but similar)?

Also wondering if you could have sourced the part from somewhere else. Maybe a different dealer (like one on here) could have got it for a better price. Or, is it a Cummins pattern part that could be replaced with a standard Cummins water pump?

I don't know what a different dealer would have charged I did have another quote for $435, so I'm assuming thats full list.
A bit disappointed in my dealer always thought he was a decent dealer, but I asked him to speak to Branson as I feel that they should have stood behind the pump at least a bit of the cost with less then 900 hours on her. He didn't sound very supportive to the idea.

And no discount off list, I guess I'm spoiled but I get a discount on IH/Farmall prices ( from 2 different dealers), on New Holland prices, and even the green ones give 10% off, then NAPA has a discount.

Also I do not believe this engine is anyway related to a Cummins.
This is the first water pump I have replaced with an o-ring sealed nipple for the lower intake.

That pump does look like it is serviceable. At least to some degree. If you ever decide to go into it let us know. Thanks for sharing!

We are thinking about doing that but with a plastic barrel. We had ones years ago on an old 8N tractor that was cheap to make and worked very well for blast

My final act of the year was to spend almost all day shoveling wet snow with my Branson, almost 10” of headaches. Worst part is due to Covid, the county isn’t going to put priority on bus routes. Went to the end of the road to dig out the muck after my wife took 4 tries to get thru even in her 4x4 and I had to unstuck myself a few times. Na-sty wet snow. Normally we’d fire up the walk behind snowblower but it just clogged up. Perfect.

Yesterday was an easy day for the Branson, we had gotten some freezing rain but the ground wasn't froze real hard,
just drove up and down the driveway a few times and let the chains break upthe ice a bit.

The Branson got a shower yesterday with 3.38" of rain.

We got a little bit of snow a couple days ago. Not enough to worry about (just a few inches), but I went out anyway (ok, I wanted to "play")... and made a mess of everything. It's been so warm here so far that the ground isn't even frozen yet. I was doing ok with the Edge Tamers on the bucket edge, just running over the driveway with it. Then I got "cocky" with the box blade and made a mess in the pea gravel parking area next to the driveway. Sigh. That's something I'll have to fix in the spring with the landscape rake.

I really don't like pea gravel anyway. It never packs down and is always shifting around even under foot when you're walking on it. Maybe this summer I'll scrape it all off and put crusher run down instead.

Have to figure out my "new" snow pile patterns I want to use at our new house this winter. Don't really have a plan figured out yet on where I want to pile it up.
