Update on my family Covid situation. Wife tested negative today after spending the last 5 days in close-contact with 6 other family members that tested positive. Seems that this strain of Covid prefers the male species, which she is thankful for. I hope the ladies don't find a way to bottle this strain and threaten us guys with it:confused2::laughing:

Well heck I was not going to post anything in this brew after wishing Eddie the best but heck might as well give all the chewers something else to carry on about;

These vaccines are all going to be the holy grail that allows mankind to survive it seems from some posters,
but then others you HAVE to wear a mask ALL the time.

I wear a mask when I go into a business because up here they all have a sign on their door that a mask is required to enter.
If a private business wishes to have that policy I have to problem following their wishes, if I don't I don't have to enter.
I do have an issue when governors acting like tyrannical dictators mandate these orders.
There is no doubt in my mind that they are illegal and unconstitutional.

Now a question for all you smarties;
We have had a flu vaccine for how many years? Got to be at least 20 now.
As I recall before this covid crap there were still, what was it 20-40,000 deaths every year in this country with the flu shot.
Now I have no clue what percentage of people got the flu shoot compared to the number of people that got the flu.

And now we are to believe that a covid vaccine is going to stop this dead in it's tracks and that people are not going to catch it,
no one is going to die from it and everything is going to smell like roses.

I rather doubt that and I think the whole thing still stinks like a liquid manure spreader.

My wife signed up for the vaccine today supposed to get it next week.
I have no clue when it will be offered for me and I'm not sure what I'll do when it is, most likely get it.

I saw this morning on the news that this wonderful state is giving it to addicts before some nursing home occupants.

This whole thing is just one big F ing mess.

The profligate positivity in this thread is refreshing. Every bad thing has someone to blame and there are no limits on how many.

A catch with comparing Covid to flu is the fact that there a dozen or more strains of flu. Annual shots are based on guessing which strains will be out there that coming season.

Formulations can't/don't cover all possible strains. Recent flu epidemics have resulted when strains not covered by the vaccine (oops) proliferated unexpectedly.

My parent's friends were infected when the daughter came to visit. They were very sick but did survive. These people were not so lucky when a family member did a hair cut. Both parents died within 10 days of each other.

They did everything right. But after one at-home haircut, a husband and wife died of Covid-19
