The best way to gain money and power is from other people's fear of something.

I joined the NRA just to tick off a former prominent leader. Nothing to do with some kind of protection the NRA offers, because they really dont offer much.

N= Negotiating
R= Rights
A= Away

Unless they chose to move to one of the "Arm Pits" of Texas--Like Austin, Dallas or Houston. :rolleyes: They will likely face the same anti-gun feelings.
feelings are one thing, but Texas may have declared the State is the only one that can make gun laws, just like Florida did..

Those conspiracy strategies really seems to resonate with some. Watched my tax guy of several decades (CPA) slowly became radicalized- started hanging self defense related posters in his office, carried at work (small rural town), bragged about overcharging certain types of people, and bet me $20 that Obama would confiscate my bank accounts before the end of that year. He put me on his like-minded email list by mistake once and the stuff those guys were revving each other up about was an art form.

You oughta see what the other extremes talk about
Goes both ways bro

The NRA is still the top group that the anti-gun crowd loves to hate. That ought to tell you something. I'm a tad suspicious that the NY AG isn't genuinely concerned that my money is used efficiently by the NRA to fight for gun rights.

Something like the NRA is needed to take cases through the legal system. These cases take money, and most individuals can't afford to pursue them.

"President-elect Joe Biden様ong a proponent of gun control揺as pledged to 電efeat the NRA and end our epidemic of gun violence as president." that's a violation of the second amendment "the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed" the people is the same as WE the people, meaning everyone!!. the people is also mentioned many times elsewhere in the constitution and bill of rights.. if it meant SOME of the people, many protections would be useless..

Did you even bother reading what you wrote? Ending gun violence has nothing to do with our 2nd; getting rid of the NRA, (which in itself is nothing more than a political PAC ), has nothing to do with our 2nd... I'm with you, I have a right to bear arms, I wish that right was good in all 50 states, but it is not.

I am 100% pro 2nd... I would never support the NRA.

Simply put, the NRA is the only reason that liberals have not begun gun confiscation!

Look for them to push hard with the new regime in control!

They will begin by taxing and limiting ammunition and move forward from there!

Koolaid on the Cheerios for breakfast???:confused2:

...

The second amendment begins with the words A WELL REGULATED MILITIA....

The word regulated does not mean controlled by regulations but means to be drilled and practiced.

The NRA was formed by ex Union army officers after the US Civil War to promote marksmanship among the population, i.e., having a regulated militia. Why did these ex officers see the need? Because during the war, the average man who served had little marksmanship skills and these officers wanted to promote the skills in time of peace so when war happened again, they would have at least some men who could accurately fire weapons.

The Regular Army, until after WWII, was very small by any standard and was completely dependent on mass mobilization. This mass mobilization meant using state militias are forming all new military units. This happened in all of our wars up to WWI. One can make a good argument it happened in WWI, WWII and even today, based on the current force structure at the state and Federal level.

Later,
Dan
