How does one receive news that one can trust when every imaginable source has their own agenda?... When I was a kid I was taught I could trust my teachers, a policeman, a fire fighter, and Walter Cronkite; and absolutely, positively I could trust my parents not to lie. (Santa Claus) OK... Now that we are past all that and 99% of TV preachers lie who exactly should I trust ?

For some reason, I always trusted Walter Cronkite:D That said, I understand he a lot of cases, he could only report information he was fed.

The bad thing with the internet IMO is no one generally researches the news source and what is being said.
T The ability is often there, if one chooses to do so. I often will try to dig deeper if an article is something I'm interested in. I've long held that in order for a democracy to fully work, we would need to get more involved than voting every November.

Interesting link. Some people with experience on it. But no witnesses. Nobody ever answered post #30’s question:

They are building a regional shipping hub for Amazon next to my work.

Got a good video one day of them air lifting air handlers to the roof.

Someone had some hefty pockets that day. I shot the video around 12:30 and they were still lifting air handlers at 5pm when I closed up and headed home.

Chopper pilot, ground and roof crews were hustling pretty good. They were taking less then 15 seconds to hook up or disconnect one of those air handlers from the cables and then the chopper was back on the move.

It was pretty impressive to watch.

If I was working underneath that helicopter I would have hustled too. :)

I was watching the news many years ago and in the morning there was an interview with the FBI director where they played the interview. Each time it was played it was a little shorter, then summarized and by the end of the day the news media was reporting the opposite of what he said.

Helicopter Drops Huge A/C Unit Onto Oakland Street – NBC Bay Area

I have no clue why they decided to pick up the units in the street, if you notice, kind of narrow (generally when laying equipment down by a sky lift, the pick up point is in a very open area and flown to the destination for a short trip). Best guess is no cables actually snapped, but for whatever reason, the pilot felt something wrong with the load and intentionally dropped it right back where it was picked up. Less money loss and no loss of life compared to the pilot trying to make it happen and crash the helicopter in the city and God only knows what could of happened.

The news didn't get it wrong, the witnesses did. They assumed the cable snapped when for some reason it appears the load was either released or the release failed.

Also, if you notice, the area where they are picking it up is not narrow. It's a distorted perspective. We've had several occasions in our town where a helicopter was used to place HVAC equipment on roofs. They picked the load from the street half a block away.
