Good morning!!!!

The fire chief and I were sitting on the raised rotary cutter on my tractor watching, when the glass in my right side door exploded.

The forestry mulcher was always pointed away from us and it throws everything forward so .. my guess is the it threw a rock that ricocheted off a tree and back to my tractor even though it was at least 75 yards away, at its closest. Who knows?

Glad no one was hurt, Rick.

I can't help wondering why you guys didn't just burn the slash. It's not like it's gonna get away with all those firefighters tending it, right? Not to mention saving wear and tear on the forestry mulcher.

Rick, that's a sad picture, sorry it happened for you.

amazing what those forestry mulchers can do.

lawns have turned white from a gentle snow.

Not too cold or windy. Snow started around 11 this morning. Patio is white. Still falling pretty lite.

If you are thinking of planting seeds this year you might want to check around. My wife found one place out of stock of the seeds she wanted. Another place was only selling to commercial growers at this time. A third place had raised prices three times compared to last year. Hopefully it was just bad luck.

Just above freezing and still snowing, started about 7 and was light for a while, then picked up to moderate/heavy back to moderate, about 3-4” total has fallen, some has melted. Roads are covered but not deep. Should be changing to rain before too long.

Eric, I’m not sure how well the jet boat solution would work in your ponds.

RNG, I have owned exactly 1 Norton. A 71 Commando. For whatever reason, I simply could never take a liking to that bike. To this day, I avoid Nortons. It did handle great, but, IMO, most BSA痴 handle great too. I can deal with a BSA, but not a Norton. Not even a big fan of vintage Triumphs other than the somewhat unloved wet frame bikes. They are considerably better bikes than their reputation. Especially the late bikes with disc brakes. I did put some miles on a 76 T140.....still miss that bike. If I was gonna stray too much on British brand, it would be to a Velocette. I am fascinated by them. It hasn稚 helped that the 3 I have ridden were well set up and worked brilliantly.

Yes Kyle, I learned a lot about tuning from flat track. Never had the current å¡—ot set up, had to make do with older equipment. What I learned about getting a Bul to live and be fast, was trying to get several riders transfer points to the junior class. I used to take it as a compliment when people started threatening to put up the money to tear the motor down. Never happened, but was threatened more than once. One night, a guy got in my face about the Bul being illegal and he was gonna have it torn down....I told him: æ³¥o it, the bike needs rings and we need the gas and beer money to get home? He stood there staring at me with his mouth open, abruptly turned and walked away. Never heard another word that night about being illegal!

Often too much grumbling in the pits....I believe it might be the reason bikers first wore leather jackets...Hahaha

Good morning all. Woke up to sad news this morning. My mother-in-law passed away from Covid at 3:30 in the morning last night in Calgary. She was a very tough lady, at 86 years old. She had had MS for over 60 years and survived it, along with several brushes with death. This one, however finally got her.

She had been in fact vaccinated about a week before things got bad, and then tested positive. She only had one of the shots, however and I guess either she was already infected at the time or her immunity had not ramped up enough yet.

Have to arrange for a zoom funeral, of course. And now I have to worry about my father-in-law, who visited her for about three or four days in a row for several hours during her last few days. He wore full PPE, but that much exposure is still risky. Will have to arrange for him to get tested in the next few days as well.

This is a bad, bad disease.

Prayers for your family Check. My mom just got her first shot Thursday, she's 91.

I've seen some great "School of Rock" kids' videos. What kind of guitar is he waiting for? I'm glad you support him.

Jawa makes the Speedway racers. I LOVE watching Speedway m/c racing.

Supercross was good. Snowing outside stadium in Indy. 4th different winner in 4 races. Field is loaded with talent.

Check, sorry for your loss. Hope your FIL will be OK.

Rick, hope Insurance picks it up and you have a low deductible.

Got a call this afternoon from the Gardens. The lift was leaking.

Interpreted: a hydraulic hose was leaking on the FEL. I saw the hydraulic fluid all over the front of the hood and started up the tractor to find the leak. Nothing was leaking. I did find a loose hydraulic hose connection on the bucket hose and tightened it and called it fixed. While I was there the barn doors would not close so I adjusted them and fixed that problem. I was on a roll of easy fixes.

My niece found a way to get our older ladies signed up with Rite aid drug stores to get vaccinated. 3 have had the first shot of Moderna. My wife is signed up for next week. I know one had to drive to the next county to get her's. It is supposed to be on the Rite Aid web site but when I looked I couldn't find it. It is there somewhere. I don't know where all rite Aid is. I wish this was better organized but if you let our state organize it GOOD LUCK.

Just a little bit more on that.

Not only are the places with most infections mutating, but the more infections there are, the more opportunities there are for more unique mutations.

So the long-term focus really needs to be on reducing the size of (if not eliminating) the pool in which those mutations take place.

Smaller pool = less opportunities for mutations = less chance of the virus becoming more transmissible and/or more lethal ... or less amenable to being controlled/prevented/ameliorated by a vaccine.

It isn't enough to just vaccinate the US ... we have to vaccinate the entire world.

And the sooner the better.

You do know that even when a person is vaccinated he can still spread the infection.
As CNN reported, "Covid-19 vaccines prevent illness, but do not necessarily prevent infection. If someone tests positive and doesn't get sick, the vaccine has worked as intended."

So by getting vaccinated you are only helping yourself from getting ill. Kind of like quitting smoking you are just helping yourself and not everyone else that smokes.

Also there are a lot of unknowns about the vaccine, too early to think that it is the cure all. Better than nothing - absolutely - it will keep the hospitals open.
You Can Spread COVID-19 After Getting a Vaccine

That's good enough for me.

If someone else decides not to get the vaccine, they also accept the risk of not having the protection it offers. It seems unreasonable to require everyone, even those that have been vaccinated, to continue with the masking, distancing, and isolation. That's our current path, and it's headed straight for economic doom. We can't let a minority of small thinkers force us down that path, but we can enable them to suffer the consequences of their poor decisions.:2cents:
