What have you done to your Branson today?

I was using the 3520 as a bulldozer (I know, I know). I was uprooting and pushing scrub growth and brush away from the house and property line. I stopped for lunch and of course the Branson wouldn't start when I got back to it. Turns out a branch or something got into the engine compartment and the starter wire was ripped in two. I did a temporary fix and parked it for the weekend. I'll do a wire repair next weekend.

Hardly been using mine at all so far this winter. We've had almost no snow at all. I did start it up and use it to bring some firewood into the garage for Mrs. Slim's wood burning stove.

Nice to have a garage door tall enough I can drive the cabbed tractor all the way inside and close the door to stack off the wood.

So it's basically just a glorified wheel barrow, but it beats bringing in armloads at a time by hand. My tractor sure has had a lazy 6 months so far, that and a new indoor parking space.

I worry it's going to end up getting spoiled and lazy (like me).

That's nice and handy for bringing in your wood.
Mine hasn't been started in 3-4 days,
sounds like it will be Tuesday again for more snow.

Just got my Branson back from spending a couple weeks at the dealer getting some stuff done that I was too lazy to do. First he changed a slightly sloppy front wheel bearing and a leaky axle seal. Second, to address to my overheating under heavy load in the summer, he pulled the radiator, transmission cooler and AC condenser and thoroughly cleaned them. Despite me cleaning them with an air hose and water hose regularly, they still managed to get clogged up with chaff.

You are lucky, Slim. The roof on my Branson is about 2 inches too tall for carrying fire wood into my garage.

Well, it will only be loud the first time you bring it in...

:D

It's a game of inches as they say. I have to drop my ROP to garage the tractor.

We've finally had good amounts of rain lately and also high winds so I made a trail this weekend so I wouldn't rut up the soggy lawn. Besides the assault on the brushy area I did a fair amount of backdragging (getting good at it!) and also moved some logs and branches I'd cut out of three of the oaks. It felt great getting in some tractor time!

Are those two little heaters hanging from the ceiling?
They look like they might be kinda small for Bismark/Mandan

Yes, those are electric heaters. They do surprisingly well as long as you leave the doors closed. It doesn't take them long to bring the temp back up if you open a door to let a car (or tractor) in. The garage is very well insulated, including the doors. Even the windows are double paned, and the whole thing is pretty wind tight. No drafts during last 70 mph winds we had.

I normally leave them set for 50 F, but when I'm out there sitting at a bench working on something or reloading, I'll turn them up to 60 and it's pretty comfortable.

I am glad we did not do the deal on the snow blower Slim. Looks like I still would not get to use it!

Yeah, it's supposed to be in the mid 30's (that's with a "+") for the next 3 days...

It's just crazy this winter. Mud in the back yard right now. Unheard of for Feb.

I'm never going to get the boss to ok a snow blower at this rate!
