Don't laugh, my CUT's counterweight is an elevator weight.
However mine is slim ' like 4""x 10" x 48" @ about 400 lbs.! Nice and compact.

4X10X48X.283 = 543 pounds!! :eek:

You need to cut some of that weight off,, to get it down to 400 pounds,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :confused2:

:D

Looks like a good excuse to build a pulling tractor, heck you already have the weights !

I have wondered if my 6.0 equipped Chevy would be good for anything other than a "Farm Use" truck,,

Maybe a pulling tractor is the answer,,
since I have the weights,, and the engine,,,

Hey, that weight is presently under snow as my blower is installed so I did not measure.
BUT the weight is actually embossed into the casting!

With loaded tires and that elevator weight I enjoy excellent traction plus added stability as the Mitsubishi is narrow and tippy.

Tractor ballast box?
I second ballast.

I have a similar material set up from a small dozer that I plan to make a weight box so I can take it into the woods instead of my finish mower as ballast.

Tractor ballast box?

I second ballast.

I have a similar material set up from a small dozer that I plan to make a weight box so I can take it into the woods instead of my finish mower as ballast.

JD built the 2010C crawler,, but, when they put the loader on the machine it needed extra rear ballast.
So, the weight that I got is that rear ballast.

Here is a pic of a 2010C with the weight box and bracket installed on the back.

The guy bought the 2010C for the undercarriage, he planned to put the new undercarriage on the 2010C blade equipped dozer that he already owned.

After he got it home, he decided the undercarriage on both machines were in about the same condition,, so the undercarriage change was canceled.

No one wanted to buy the machine, the scrap prices are so low,, he is stuck with the machine.
He found a buyer for the bucket,, I bought the weights,,

I think it will cost him as much to haul the machine to the scrap yard as what they will give him for the scrap value.

It is a shame when you can not get rid of a machine for scrap price,,,

That's essentially how I got the weights I have. The guy bought a second dozer for parts and didn't need/want the weights. I got them for nearly .20 cents a pound which I felt was a steal.
