Does CO keep you from using the stove normally? Does your home have a fresh air vent in the HVAC? You could crack a window (like the old windows of yesteryear) if you believe your O2 levels get too low.

Beautiful! Hope it made it.

Ron, I was rooting for the hawk this time. Great pictures.

Good for your dad, hope brother gets better.

Yes, prayers for Ted's knee. Also prayers for BEF, his wifey's knee, and for him getting the plumbing fixed. Prayers for our country and our team.

I'm doing well, oxygen levels still normal. Just took my D3, vitamin, and zinc supplement.

Rick, you're good until the power goes out with your light heat source.

I have a couple of faucets I need to drip.

Don, It shows to be below freezing until Friday afternoon. The longest cold snap I can ever remember.

Question for the team, any guesses if my shallow pond will freeze over? (Average depth about 3-5') We have been at or below freezing for 3 or 4 days now, and 5 days ahead of us.

Yes, unless there is some kind of agitation.

Up to 34 now, was freezing earlier, Ellen found that out when she slipped on the side garage ramp and busted her butt, second time this year. It appears that there was enough padding to avoid injury. (I didn’t say that)
Supposed to be 41 later with showers. All the very frigid forecast weather is gone and 8 of the next 14 days are supposed to be 50 or above.
Kyle, LS, Buppies and all you guys, be, get and stay well.

A 155 mm to the head.

like in North Korea for the Defense Minister?
Anti aircraft gun, little smaller...
or in the movie where the battleship puts a 16inch shell through the alien's head?
take that to the next solar system buddy

hardware store out of sunflower seeds, doesn't surprise me, picked up some seed mix and a compact
hand truck they had on sale. US made, except for the wheels, for 25 bucks. 300 pound limit is fine with me.
Though I did ogle the one with big fat pneumatic tires and a 600 pound rating.
Came home and moved the box with the raised garden wood
pieces in it out of the house and into the garage
with the hand truck, which worked nicely. Wheels were just big enough.

Quiet Sunday planned.

There is a little quirk with TurboTax and Arkansas state taxes, where your better off to just have someone do your taxes for you.

The issue is with filing jointly versus separately.

Federal we file jointly, on the state taxes we file separately. Which the one time we tried turbo tax it wouldn't allow us to do.

Arkansas state taxes are weird. If a married couple files jointly on the state taxes, you are guaranteed to owe money to the state. If you do married filing separately, you both will get money back from the state.

Luckily .. we have no state income tax in Texas. So .. there's that.

I've used TurboTax .. since it first came out.

I would have no issues if it weren't for that quirk with the state taxes. It's pay someone $200 to do our taxes, or lose money that we should be getting back.

65°F and .24 inches rain

Happy Valentine’s Day

Nice visit with BIL and his gf after they got their shots yesterday. The ribeyes were delicious, but forgot to get a pic.

No idea what I’ll get into today. Our local Sears is closing. Probably go down there to see if anything of interest. 70% off. Probably picked pretty clean already.

Wonder how that affects the Home Protection plan I renewed just recently.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Check, sincere condolences to family and friends for loss of your MIL.
I did a few service calls to Barrie, Ontario. Great town on west end of Lake Simcoe. Having dinner in the evening at one of many restaurant that over looked lake made a long day very relaxing.

Thanks, Ron. Barrie is indeed a nice place - and about an hour closer to the cottage than Toronto. Have been looking at a nice retirement place (Waterford Barrie Retirement Residence) that is close to my SIL/BIL (maybe 5 mins. away), and looks real nice. (They sent us videos of the available suites.) I am mindful of one of my favourite lines from The Sound of Music - "When the Lord closes a door, somewhere He opens a window."

And here is another thing to thing to think about. The same day that my MIL died, a new baby was born to my Nephew and his wife. Anyone believe in reincarnation?

Condolences for your MIL. Congrats for new baby. The closest I get to any word that sounds like that, is "Where in tarnations did I leave my 10mm socket?"

36° now, worship went well.

My brother flew his drone at dad’s last week in the freezing fog. It crash landed. He’s lucky he was over the field, and not the wooded steep hillside
