My cousin has a 1 cylinder Yanmar diesel tractor. Probably 40 years old. It is 2 wheel drive with front and rear wheel weights, a mower, a grader blade and a 3 point hitch rototiller. He said it is 11 or 12 horsepower. He thought the number was a 112 or 121. It is out in the cold barn. He wants $1200 for the combo.
Any thoughts or price etc.? I actually am more interested in just the rototiller but unsure if it is a Cat 1or 0 and if it would fit on my YM 336d or Mahindra 4510.
He lent the rototiller out and the guy broke the cast iron housing. It was welded but they melted an O ring or gasket or seal and it now leaks oil there even though a new gasket etc. was put in. Any idea a fair price on the rototiller. Unfortunately where I am at it is loaded with rocks so unsure how that would work.
The mower he thinks needs new bearings. Thanks

You don't mention hours or shape. It could be worth a lot more or even less.

I have not seen it yet. It is in the barn but has not been used in 4 years. I would say below average shape.

Sounds like an interesting and valuable machine though. YANMAR numero-uno!

That sounds like a really rare one. We would love to see some pictures when you get an opportunity.

If possible, including the engine ID plate (likely by the starter) and the model #, usually stamped by the operator's left ankle.

Give a heads up what model series and number the machine is. I have manuals for FREE. Wish there were more of these walk-behinds here in the USA.

Wouldn't make sense to be a walk behind if front and rear wheel weights. Sure cuious to see this 1 cylinder machine. :confused3:

Even a tiny little boy can use one!

Oh, and Yanmar took the 1-cly Walk-Behind into a mini track crawler/dozer. This is a merger of their MGC100 and a walk-behind tractor.

I have owned 4 of those rototillers (singles) the lights, horn, and batterys all worked, two of them had electric start.
They will pull a car thats stuck in the mud out. They would start when it was 25 degrees outside and run for hours on a half a gallon of diesel.
Unfortunately I had to sell them when I moved, also they are DANGEROUS, if you slip and fall under one while its in reverse, you can kiss it goodbye.

My Cub Cadet is a monster of a rear rototiller. Looking at the Yanmar machines, those are a tad bigger. Yes, reverse wouldn't be fun knowing the power the diesels have. If I recall, some of the Yanmars had 3 or 4 speeds forward and 1 slow reverse.

Are those the same thing as the little tractors used to pull a road trailer in Asia? (Photos).

I love that crawler. I tried to buy that power unit, with the single headlight at an auction, not that long ago. That design is copied by a bunch of manufacturers.

I stopped in to look at the YM122 today. It looks a bit like a garden tractor. It is small but it has 4 wheels like a lawn mower. It is one cylinder with a glow plug. Two wheel drive. He has a Yanmar 3 pt grader blade, maybe 4 feet. It has a Woods PTO finish mower, maybe 4 feet. Also a rototiller, I think that is Yanmar also.
I am not computer literate. I tried to take photos with my flip phone and did not do it correctly. I think I got some on my camera but really am not good about transferring them but I will try in the next day or so.
I was told the mower and rototiller PTO runs in reverse compared to US ones. I would say the 3 pt is a Cat O.

That was quite a bit of money back then. I only paid $3000 used for my Yanmar 336d with a loader and rear blade back about then.
I suspect he was incorrect about the reverse PTO, maybe he meant an unusual PTO speed of not 540 or 1000. Not sure the unit would really be of any value to me especially with the rototiller gear box leak and the mower needing bearings etc. Thanks for all the responses.
