Ford 3910
Hi. I'm thinking about selling my Ford 3910 Series II but can't figure out how to date it. I've attached the serial number plate but can't find any place on line that can decipher the VIN to help me date it or identify it's HP. I think the * means they didn't include which shift it was built on. Other than that, I can't find any info anywhere.

Also, can someone direct me to some site that is reliable for estimating its value?

Thanks! I'm a new member and appreciate your help.

I don't know the exact year but I'd say its somewhere between an 1988-1992? Also how many hours does it have on it? Without more pictures or info we can only guess at a price. I'd guess between $7,000-$12,000 which is a very large range.

Final assembly date October 14, 1989 at the Basildon, England Ford plant. Day shift. Tractorhouse, Machinery Pete, Iron Search, Fastline and other sales sites will have comparable units, some list actual selling prices along with asking prices.

You're thinking of selling a 3910 but that's not the data plate in the picture. The data place shown is for a CA 414 D. You can get some information on the 3910 from Tractor Data but they don't give any kind of a current selling price, just basic information. TractorData.com Ford 391 tractor information

Hey Roadworthy,

Thanks so much. I took a picture of the plate on the underside of the hood. Are you saying that might not be the actual plate for my tractor?

Thank you. I'll check the hours and post some pics, but even having that range of value helps.

CA414D is in fact a particularly equipped 3910.
Here's part of a response in an older thread that speaks to Ford model codes. I trimmed the part about build dates because I did not want to confuse the issue. The tractor in the linked discussion does not have a 1989 build date. The tractor in this linked discussion also has a C prefix serial (tractor) number indicating it was built in the US.

"I received some friendly assistance from New Holland customer service in decoding the numbers. The model number shows a "C" for 3000 series, "A" for agricultural, "4" for utility, "1" for diesel, "4" for 540 PTO, and "C" (not "0") for 8-spd transmission."

With it having a loader and it being MFWD (4x4) it will be worth quite a bit more. Maybe closer to $15,000 plus.

I appreciate all the help. I'm new to this forum and am blown away.
Is there such a thing as a site for tractor sales by individuals? All the sites I've been directed to are dealer sales.

Tractorhouse in particular accepts private listings. Others may as well, you might have to investigate more carefully.

Yes there is. Go down through the forums and one of the last will be the member's marketplace. Post your ad there. It's a nice place to look for used tractors owned by members - some of whom have posted here for years. BTW, that's a nifty tractor. Does it run as well as it looks?
Good luck.

Hey rScotty: thanks! I'm new and didn't know about the marketplace. Yes, the tractor runs really well. I'm a little conflicted about selling it. I'm upgrading to a new compact John Deer which will be easier for my wife to operate.

Depending on how clean and straight it is, the price could get to $15K. For sure $13K.

I've got $10K in mine without Loader.
